dairy's second wager. i follow a god that will give me everlasting life. his name is frank. now he believes that you should believe in his minions the boogymen. if u don/t ur damneded. therefore the only logical conclusion is that you should believe in frank oh else u be n some deep u no wut.

prove dat wrong and i give ya anyting.
Only a fool answers a wager with a wager.

Dairy is easily proven wrong by that one article that I posted.

Where are the 70,000 plus documented witnesses?
Where is the proof of St. Pio?

etc...

Please... think.

To think properly, one must know the given arguements.

To do that... go to the page.

To argue against it without going to the page to read what it says is a sure sign of a fool...

Think of a chain that is one mile long.

You can see 50 feet of the chain, the rest is behind a hill.

When someone asks you what is connected to the the chain and says that it can save your life.

Are you going to answer with chain links are connected to the chain and they can't save my life or are you going to go over the hill and to the other end of the chain to see what is connected to it?

You can only argue that the object can or cannot save your life after knowing what it is.

God Bless,
ironmonk

The fool and the lazy will say chain links. The wise will go to the other end and see.

And you only got one chance in the afterlife, might as well enjoy it, right?

I'd much rather help build a shack for myself in heaven than build a mansion for myself on earth.

Another wager...
Dairy, get your hands on Blaise Pascal's famous wager. It's worth a look.
A quick quote from the summary of his classic essay:
"Now what harm will come to you from choosing this course [that of a life of faith in God] You will be faithful, honest, humble, grateful, full of good works, a sincere, true friend...It is true you will not enjoy noxious pleasures, glory and good living, but will you not have others?"
"I tell you that you will gain even in this life, and that at every step you take along the road your gain is certain, and your risk so negligible that in the end you will have realized that you have wagered on something certain and infinite for which you have paid nothing."
Basically, what Pascal is saying is:
Live for God. If God doesn't exist, you will be none the worse for it.

(And if you live for God, it won't be long til you know He Is).

Sounds like you're getting a little gung ho with the locking of the threads.

Also, this is right up dairy's ally.... what would give you an idea that it wasn't her?

It's illogical, half thought out, and unfinished... as with many of the posts that I've attempted to dialog with her. And no, this isn't uncharitable, a simple search would prove it to be a fact. And... these statements are full of charity... much more harsh things could be said justly, but weren't.

God Bless.

Look Iron, I have no idea what you're talking about the "charity" issue here - that was another thread and if you're mad about that one, then go there and state it.

As far as this being dairygirl, it doesn't really fit with her pattern - the street-speak and small spellings - the "simple search" proved that all of her other posts are at least articulate and fully spelled out.

And as far as "gung ho", well my friend, nevermind.

I haven't closed a thread and let it stay closed in a couple of days. Get over yourself.

This is the debate table. If you really think it was dairy posting, then debate her. If it was dairy posting I'm sure she'll be back to let us know.

Amendment: I did close a thread today because it was requested within the thread by the originator and it was a duplicate thread. So there, I've even corrected myself.

you know if you have any issues monk out of courtesy you can PM a mod. ;) but i dont think that was called for :cyclops: :)

if a thread smells fishy, questionable or what-have-you-- and there are reasons for it-- then for a sake of sanity in this board it will be "looked into"... which is usually the mods call and judgment.... :)

but i can assure that kilroy, nor any one mod for that matter, is being "gung ho" about closing threads :) .....since there are 7 mods to this one board--which you also happen to know nothing what each one is doing or thinking.....so please... dont assume. it just not nice. :(

God bless. :)

While I agree that the majority of Dairy's posts are utterly confusing (at least they are to me...), I have to agree with Kilroy on this thread, I honestly don't think its the real Dairy posting.

Unless she's drunk....

If there is a problem with a thread or post I strongly encourage people to use that nifty little report button. I apologize that I haven't always been on top of every thread lately and may have missed things, but using the report button really helps bring problems to my/our attention. Even with seven mods we can't catch every little thing, and we can't please everyone. We're jes' tryin' to do our job and uphold the rules and standards dUSt has set up.
