crusader1234
You spelled does wrong - twice. Fighting doesn't solve anything. It ends things, it doesn't solve them.

kdewolf2
It depends on the situation. Normally, I wouldn't suggest resorting to violence to resolve conflicts, but I think it's better to fight those who would oppress, brutalize, or inflict harm on others, like Saddam Hussein or Osama bin Laden. It's also right to fight to defend yourself, your family and friends, your country, and any innocent people who suffer injustice at the hands of others. Guest Aluigi
pacifisim doesn't solve anything, it only leads to the escalation of agressors fighting solves things sometimes. fighting is important. so long as human nature remains fallen: there will always be reasons for fighting and going to war. Christians need to recognize that. pacifism is an evil sprung upon our society at the enlightenment, when people started thinking the ultimate thing of importance was to survive (due to the loss of belief in the afterlife of course) and thus there's nothing worth dying for nothing worth fighting for. but there will ALWAYS be something worth fighting for. war can not and should not be abandoned. give war a chance. crusader1234
2307 The fifth commandment forbids the intentional destruction of human life. Because of the evils and injustices that accompany all war, the Church insistently urges everyone to prayer and to action so that the divine Goodness may free us from the ancient bondage of war.105 2308 All citizens and all governments are obliged to work for the avoidance of war.
Al, I think you should keep those in mind... I agree that war is neccesary sometimes, but it doesn't really solve anything. War can stop physical agression and potential threats, but does it really solve problems? Often, war inflames situations. For example, the Palestine/Israel situation where the more we get involved, the angrier the Palestinians become and the more hatred they grow. War is useful, it saved us from the Nazi's, and has saved millions of lives countless times - but I really don't think it solves the real problem that causes the agression. Guest Aluigi
war will never go away, it will always be necessary.. Jesus said wars would continue until the end of time i still say give war a chance. of course not throw it around lightly, work for the avoidance of it, but still you should always be ready and willing to go to war if and when necessary. Phazzan
Put it this way, if someones giving you cr.ap for no apparent reason, you're entitled to stand up for your manhood. There'd be nothing worse than getting struck in the face, spat on, laughed at in front of other people and failing to do anything about it. Jesus forgave, but I'd get mad!

Guest Aluigi
regarding matters of honor, it is important to stand for what is right and be prepared to back up with force if necessary but not to stand up for your own pride and back up with force, you are called to humility in that case and turning the other cheek. Guest Aluigi
acting on your pride: nope but say this big guy hits you every day or somethin... it could be a matter of charitable correction, a matter of honor, to hit him back and set him strait (assuming you're physically able to do so)
