thessalonian
Thought you might be interested in these two bits of info. The first is a state by state ranking of charitable giving. The second is the election results. Now we have all heard about the mean evil republicans who don't care about the poor so we have to rip the money out of their hands, via the power of the IRS. But there is something very odd about these two items. First of all if you will look toward the bottom 8 out of 10 of the worst states for charitable giving are blue states on the map in the other link. Among them, Minnesota, Massachusetts, and Wisconsin. Further, I started from the top down and did not find a blue state in the top 25 on the charity ranking. New York was the first I found at number 26. If I am wrong correct me. Here is that study on charitable giving by state. http://www.catalogueforphilanthropy.org/cf...enerosity_index Here are the election results. thessalonian
By the way, I am not a republican but a Catholic who votes my values. This unfortunately involved a going down the ballot and choosing all republicans this time around. FYI

This unfortunately involved a going down the ballot and choosing all republicans this time around. FYI
Hence why I'm a registered republican. Instead of being independant, I chose republican because that allows me to vote in the primary to make sure I can help Catholic values make it to the race (Hence why I flip when someone calls me partisan). I voted for our new Senator Mel Martinez in the primary... and in the Senate... He won... He's a good Catholic. God Bless, ironmonk
That is fine Max and I have voted in the primaries on the republican side from time to time as well. One word of caution however. I know so many people who got so focused in on what the democratic party used to be and actually developed a hatred for what they think a republican is. Good people, whom I know are for life and who I know do not support gay marriage etc. etc.. Just be sure not to get locked in such that you compromise what is right. I don't think you will but I know lots of people who did. It took us a long time to get my dad to see the light. He says that the democrats left him so in some sense still considers himself one. One of what the democrats used to be. The pendulum swings but so slowly that for many the suddlty of it decieves them. It will some day swing back the other way. If the pendulem swings the other way, I won't be republican... Remember, I hated the government when I was a gowing up... I didn't want anything to do with it until I was around 18... I have no loyalty to any party... my loyalty is with the Church establish by Christ. God Bless, ironmonk
SirMyztiq
Seems like women are smarter than guys according to the CNN link. BTW In Dallas we elected a brand new Sheriff! She is a woman. She is hispanic. AND SHES A LESBIAN! The irony is striking.
