Colleen
Maybe they were published before 1935, when he was canonized . . . . . . but I doubt that.
Thy Geekdom Come
Yeah...secular texts tend to do that...it always annoys me, too...like when "Joan of Arc" is just referred to as a "revolutionary"...which isn't even true in itself... StColette
Because your English book was edited or compiled by a non-Catholic. My College Brit Lit. book does the same thing. I have no idea about the Utopia thing but I know it was written by St Thomas More. btw my Brit Lit book is very anti-Catholic it seems I love correcting it lol Edited November 11, 2004 by StColette

EcceNovaFacioOmni
I usually see his name as "Sir Thomas More". One of the coolest secular titles.
FutureSoror
I really like Thomas More... I connect myself with him because, for a time, he lived in a town that had the same name as me!

luciana
Maybe they don't consider "post-reformation" saints true saints.
^^yeah, i think that's it, you'll see some protestant churches with the title saint like for ex. St. Luke's Episcopal Church, and they'll use the word "St." Augustine, but none that have been canonized by the Catholic Church post-reformation. St. Thomas More--- We need his intercession for world leaders nowadays.
