Women have careers because they murder the human lives within them.
*tweet* over the line... completely without merit... Many women have careers before they marry, before they have children... After their children are out of the "nest" with complete support of their husbands...

Ash Wednesday

Hmmmm.

What about consecrated virginity? That is a vocation that involves being unwed, and yet you are not a nun either. What about chaste homosexuals?

And what about a mother who is widowed? Husband dies and she has to get a job to feed her kids? It does happen. Not to mention husbands that pressure their wives and tell them to go out and get jobs after a few years of being stay at home moms because he's having trouble paying the bills on his own? It happens all the time.
Women who don't get married? You mean nuns? The "single life" is not a vocation. Women who do not want to have children? They are going against the Church's teachings. Women who go back to work? That is not the role of the woman--Catechism of Trent: the woman should love to stay at home and never presume to leave without the permission of her husband... basically the woman who wants to leave the house is not fulfilling her duty as a mother or wife. If she is not married, then she should be a nun or on the way to one of these two ends. The single life is not a choice.
*chuckles* No, I most certianly did not mean nuns when I asked about women who do not get married. The single life most certianly IS a vocation. I know plenty of women who do not want to have children. I'm not sure if I want to have children, either. I work at a school and a nursery and considering the educational field, which is what I want to go into, I do not think I would have the strength to teach and then go home and take care of children. There is absltouly nothing wrong with wanting to be loved by a husband and not feeling the call to have children.

The Cathchism of Trent about the whole women staying at home bit. Okay, fine, until the child goes to school. THen what is the mom supposed to do? Sit at home and twiddle her thumbs? Sew? Knit? I don't think so. There is NOTHING wrong with going back to work after your children are in school, especially if it helps the family financially.

My aunt is over 40, not married, single and not a nun. What happens to those people in life who look all their lives for that special person they want to spend the rest of their life with and never find them? Are they going to hell because they didn't look hard enough? Highly doubtful.

There are many flaws in your post, Catholic Crusader. I suggest you try to patch those holes in your argument and come back when you have done so. I'll be waiting.

Marie :P
I am completely against Kerry--but not for Bush--I am for a candidate who is in line with what the Church teaches. That being said, I would like to comment on somthing this Ted fellow wrote (being from Connecticut myself):

"So our guy lost the election. Why shouldn't those of us on the coasts feel superior? We eat better,"

True

"travel more,"

True

"dress better,"

VERY True

"watch cooler movies,"

Probably true

"earn better salaries,"

True

"meet more interesting people,"

Depends what you mean

"listen to better music"

That is also definitely true... e.g., WABE, the station that plays the liberal NPR, has classical music on during the day--most rednecks listen to country, and in the southern intercities, especially Atlanta, they listen to the ungodly rap

"and know more about what's going on in the world."

That's also probably true

Basically... the general populus, especially in New England, has everything right except morals and politics (they've got the Religion correct, just need to actually follow it), but I don't know how someone could think that middle American and especially the South is more elegant than New England. The manners are non-existant for the most part, and there is little to no class.

That doesn't change my beliefs of political stance, but just to show that even leftists like this guy are right about some things (I guess anything that doesn't deal with anything leftist ideals don't touch on).
WHAT!? You don't know what you're missin' over here'n the heart of the midwest (football?).

By the way, I cannot stand country music. I listen to Gregorian chants, U2 (greatest [Irish] band of all time), and Big 80's. It's an unbeatable combination.

By the way, that Ted guy is lying when he describes his hometown's demographics in Ohio (it's obviously Dayton). Dayton is a solidly Democrat area.

I would rather be considered "dumb" than be a moron, or an idiot, or a stupid person. :)

Ted needs to go to bed and cry in his Kerry4President pillow. (Which he probally did since he wrote this column)
