Are we back to square 1? Considering it's different from [b]"born"[/b]?

i think the verse in question (Jer 1:5) also points to the foreknowledge of God. before the world began he had a plan for every single one of us. he knows every aspect of our being and how we will live our lives from beginning to end before he even attempts to create us. so, it is in this sense that he knew us before we were born

Human beings are not eternal in the proper sense of the term, because they receive their [i]actual[/i] existence at the moment of their conception, and prior to that time they are a [i]potency[/i] (i.e., a potential being) in the mind of God. Now, as I indicated above, human beings can participate in God's eternal life through the power of His uncreated energy, but this participation is not something that is a part of their nature as such; instead, it is a gift of grace. Thus, the only truly eternal being is God.
