KnightoftheRosary
Well if you grew up Catholic as most non-practicing Catholics say they do, and you don't follow the churches teaching, then guess what!!!!!! You're really not Catholic! IF you're not following the churches teachings then you're not Catholic, to be Catholic you have to be inline with the churches teachings, right! So please if you grew up CAtholic and don't follow the churches teaching, don't say you're Catholic and give the Church a bad name. Thanks Just try to look deep down at what you were taught growing up and apply it to your life and see where you went wrong. Then come back to the church, get good with God, be a faithful CAtholic, and God will bless you all the more. Just some advise from Catholic whose been there and back! -KOTR-

Dave
I've encountered lots of people who say, "I'm Catholic, but I don't go to Mass." How can you call yourself a member of the club if you don't go to the meetings? In the same way, how can you call yourself a Catholic if you don't live your Catholic faith? TrinityAddiction
That's dope. Very well said-- .... err... typed. I also hear plenty of the "I'm Catholic, but I'm 'pro-choice'." :irate: You CAN'T be Catholic and pro-abortion at the same time!

EVERY BREATH THAT WE MAKE IS A BREATH TOWARDS A GREATER SUPPLICATION TO THE WILL OF CHRIST, TO A LOVING ACCEPTANCE OF LIFE'S CROSSES AND A CONSTANT CONVERSION OF HEART, LEST WE BECOME LUKEWARM AND BECOME USELESS TO OUR CREATOR, LORD, SAVIOUR, GOD AND KING - JESUS CHRIST. Just not a good one and may even be a schismatic or a heretic to boot. Edited November 8, 2004 by cmotherofpirl
Azriel
Not a one of us can say that we've always followed Church teachings 100% all of our lives. Even those who have grown up Catholic. Like me. For all have fallen short ... But we pray and try and are obedient. And when we fall down, we trust that our Lord will love us regardless.
hyperdulia again
Bad Catholics are only one confession away from being good ones. Good Catholics are one sin of commission/omission away from being bad ones.
God Conquers
Bad Catholics are only one confession away from being good ones. Good Catholics are one sin of commission/omission away from being bad ones.
Very true.... Listen, if you don't know any better.... what can you do? If you have been taught messed up stuff by mixed up people, you had no choice really in your beliefs until you encounter the truth in a way that makes it acceptable to hear. You can't call someone who doesn't know any better that they are a bad catholic, or not a catholic... If you are baptized into and confirmed by the church you're a catholic. These people need to be told the truth, not bashed.
KnightoftheRosary
I think that all converts are so lucky because they have true reality of the gift of what the Catholic Church is and how it impacted their lives. Yes Those who were baptised Catholic are catholic but if their not practicing their faith, don't say you're catholic if you are doing immoral things. It confuses others People who have fallen away from the church are only one confession away from being back is so true. I love confession And for those who like sarcasm..... It's ok that you don't know everything, it's really not your falt. Come to the Catholic Church and they will tell you a whole bunch of stuff you never knew and guess what it's true. So it's 1:42 in the morning and I'm tired, so Valete -KOTR-
