Prehaps they do, however it does exist, and thus a knowledge of social teachings (which are related to life teachings) is really a must. To be able to defend the Church fully a good understanding of all the Church is needed.

Don't put forth a "plan" just say what the Church says. Unions good, cancel 3rd World Debt, things like that.
Yeah, I'm just saying that I think it would be extremely hard to do that. I think we would have to pick someone who didn't have any particular party leanings...

...like, oh, say Ironmonk, Aluigi, The_Rev...

:P

Seriously...I think it would be very hard to do.
Everyone play nice.
For social teaching why don't we get copies of the new document and start with that?
The point is that we still would need an unbiased teacher. Also, this isn't a huge area of apologetics...it's not brought up much with Protestant/Catholic debate (usually dogmatic issues) and it's not brought up much with Secularist/Catholic debate (usually objectivism v. relativism and moral theology dealing with sexuality and abortion).

I think a working knowledge is still important because we should be able to defend against anything.

I like CMom's idea, but the new doc is like 500 odd pages, no? That is why I was suggesting Joy and Hope because it is short. If we got a summary of the new doc it is harder to ensure that no vested intrests were involed.

I'll include it if we can find a professor on whom everyone agrees. Know that Nick has veto power under the school rules, as well.
