What is the Fuzzy Bunny Crusade? (FBC)
The FBC is an effort by Phatmass to teach and defend Catholicism with charity on protestant forums. each group is composed of members who are strong and weak in certain areas of apologetics and knowledge of the faith. each group also has a group leader who coordinates the efforts of the group at their particular forum. each group also has a prayer warrior who consistently prays for them. there are also "floaters" who go from forum to forum and help out wherever they are needed. all crusaders must be willing to post at their forum at least once or twice a week.
What is the FBC Academy?
I've been reading a lot lately about people who aren't very good at defending our faith and how they are struggling with apologetics, charity, and other arguments.

I'm curious if a potential solution would be to open an academy for crusaders with those scholars of various sections of theology, apologetics, philosophy, ethics, etc. taking positions as professors to teach others and each other their fields. We have certain apologists like PhatCatholic who can just beat everything and others like Jen who are strong enough to defend against anything, but specialize in a particular area, like Marian Doctrine.

We could have a thread for each class, or perhaps another secret phorum all together within FBC with a thread for each class. No one talks about the academy outside of the FBC and we all stretch our apologetics muscles and go on the "journey to get learned."

I prefer the private education system, so here's what I'm thinking:

Headmaster should be elected, Nick has veto power. For the sake of humility, no one may nominate himself or herself.

Professors should be proficient in their areas of expertise. Let them claim their sections in this thread. Remember, you are responsible for this class. Be certain that you know the information. Tag team professorships are allowed, as long as any disagreements are resolved outside the classroom, so as not to scandalize students with false information.

Prefects report any problems, potential errors, or need of immediate assistance to professors.

Headmaster-Assigns teachers, suggests classes for certain students, and helps rep the FBC

I think we should get people in multiple classes at a time, particularly those that are especially important in apologetics, such as Marian Doctrine and Ecclesiology (which I forgot to mention).

I think that discipline is very important to any form of education, so I think the different ranks and organization of the whole thing could help the ability to learn.

Hopefully, if it's all organized properly, everyone will be able to specialize in certain areas and have a sturdy base in others.

we could have tracts written for assignments, have the professors check them over, give the seal of approval, and have the students publish them. We can expand the reference section, give students a tenure track, help students find their strengths, find and address commong errors, and teach all at the same time.

right now we're in the process of purging the FBC. once that is complete and the new groups are made, everyone is gonna get a "summer break" so to speak. burn out is rampant. during the break we can establish the Academy. after the break, every crusader who made it thru the purging process will be enrolled in a particular class. particular articles from the reference section will be assigned for learning. the professor will be there to answer questions. there will be NO crusading while class is in session. once all the crusaders have become more proficient in the areas they are lacking, they will be sent out to initiate FBC: Episode II (in order to please Paladin ). the professors will become either group leaders or floaters, and their doors will always be open if a student crusader needs help.

the key to all of this tho is the student crusaders. if they aren't willing to learn or to utilize the academy, then there's really no point in doing this. so, interest has to be high for this. hopefully, after the purge we will come out w/ a more dedicated group of soldiers.
please provide your comments on how to make the academy better. also note that the number of "schools" we actually have and the amount of "assignments" we give--if any--is still up in the air.

pax christi,
phatcatholic

Thy Geekdom Come
i'm interested but I don't know how good I'd be.
The goal isn't "being good" it's "getting good." None of us are great in every area, that's part of the idea.

i'm in college and work 3rd right now, so i'm not sure i have time: i haven't even had time to skim the boards inthe last month, with the exceptions of today and yesterday. I'd love to do this, but i don't think i have time right now. :( I may have time next semester, though.
