peach_cube
Buy a used one on ebay? Then the profit that is made will not go directy to Microsoft? Or buy it and make a donation to an pro-life organization that is larger then the individual profit made on the game? Dunno.
Microsoft along with many, many other companies support abortion. You are using a computer which if not MAC (although I don't know if MAC does too), is probably running a windows program... which is made by Microsoft... so... crusader1234
Hey Curtins, I think that your question is good, and people should be aware of the effect their consumer-habits are having on the world around them. Beyond money being donated to pro-choice causes, there are issues such as slave-labour or child-labour that go against Catholic Social Teaching. I wish people would buy fair trade products... I think you'd have to decide whether or not it was a sin with your priest, because ultimately its kind of a matter of your own consience whether or not its a mortal sin. AfroNova No Limit Soldier
curtins, good question. I think in the situation where supporting a pro-abortion company can be avoided (Tide, Downy, etc.), then we should do our duty. My fiance is a graphic designer who uses Adobe a lot. This is a monopoly and can't be avoided. As far as XBOX... I dunno. Scripture comes to mind: "Vanity of vanities, all things are vanity!" Ecclesiastes 1:2 To me, playing video games seems kind of... pointless. Does it build up God's kingdom? And I can't answer that question for you. How about saying the Rosary and asking our Blessed Mother for a sign?
crusader1234
Another point is that Doom is a violent game, and probably not "Ad Majoriam Dei Gloriam" if you know what I mean.

Iacobus
I am not sure playing a game could be considered a propoatine reason if war wasn't for Kerry. Just my two cents.
ditto...same reasoning why i'd rather pay a couple more dollars for a product at a local grocery store than support Wal-mart
