crusader1234
Ignoring this whole thing which I find to be an invasion of privacy... I think that Laura is a nice lady. Polite, well spoken, etc. I don't get the impression that she is too bright, however I certainly don't get the impression she is too dumb. I think Theresa would be a fun perosn to be friends with, but not somebody I'd base a vote on.
AfroNova No Limit Soldier
Please be charitable to our brothers & sisters in Christ. Monk, I'll pray for you. Go ahead and vent. The Open Mic phorum has been used for a lot worse things. I can see where you're coming from. Yes, Laura Bush is classy. Behind every great man is a great woman! Good Friday
So my MOL (mother outlaw) says to me "The only reason why I voted for Bush was because I liked his wife better" Does anyone have any idea how hard it was to bite my tongue? She is the type of person that should not be allowed to vote. There should be a test that people have to take to protect us from foolish people like that. At least it was for Bush, because if she would have voted kerry, out the door she would go... I can't trust her judgement on anything. I have to find daycare.... ugh. God Bless, ironmonk
You know, when God commanded us to honor father and mother, I think that He probably also meant the father and mother of our wives/husbands. Besides the fact that it just makes sense, the Sacrament of Marriage has made the two of you one flesh, so her mother is now also your mother. It's up to you to decide whether or not this post and the subsequent reply you made really honors your mother-in-law -- and whether or not reporting on her behavior, which should be private among you and your family and certainly not posted on a message board, constitutes the sin of gossip. Personally, I find it despicable. But that's not surprising, is it?
azaelia
Laura... I thought she was pretty pro-death.
I guess she's moving away from that due to her husband's influence, but I have no actual proof of that. I'll have to check. AfroNova No Limit Soldier
Personally, I find it despicable. But that's not surprising, is it?
Hmmm... I think 90% of the day I find myself despicable. "I know I am awful. But how much more awful I should be without the Faith" - St. Evelyn Waugh (a guy) Dude I totally feel him. Sometimes I'm scared that people will find out my deepest darkest secrets & never love me again. This is from our wonderful phorum priest Cappie: --------------------------------------------------------- Things to remember next time you feel like a worthless sinner and God can't use you: Noah was a drunk, Abraham was too old, Isaac was a day-dreamer, Jacob was a liar, Leah was ugly, Joseph was abused, Moses had a stuttering problem, Gideon was a coward, Sampson had long hair and was a womanizer, Rahab was a prostitute, Jeremiah and Timothy were too young, David had an affair and was a murderer, Elijah was suicidal, Isaiah preached naked, Jonah ran from God, Naomi was a widow, Job went bankrupt, John the Baptist ate locusts, Peter denied Christ, the apostles fell asleep while praying, Martha worried about everything, the Samaritan woman was divorced more than once, Zaccheus was too small, Paul was a fanatic, Timothy had an ulcer...and Lazarus was dead! ...no more excuses now. God can use you to your full potential. Besides you aren't the message, you are just the messenger. ---------------------------------------------------------- I'm just the messenger buddy. Pray for me. Pray for the monk. Pray for Good Friday. I want to be a Saint!
AfroNova No Limit Soldier
BTW, Good Friday, great discourse on the commandment to honor father & mother. I never thought of it that way. I need to change how I view my fiance's parents. Love in Christ -
crusader1234
In the times when the 10 Commandments were written, the term Parent was so much more widely used - and respect actually meant something. While I am definaetly, definately guilty of being disrespectful soemtimes - I think that we should consider the context of the commandment and respect everyone that could possibly be considered a parent. ironmonk
First off, None of you know her... so it's not like you know who I'm talking about or that you'll ever meet her. This is a situation that is going on. It is NOT the sin of gossip. Second... When you have an employee that is not taking care of your child in YOUR house, you got every God given right to know what's going on when she is suppose to be watching your child. She is our employee because she is getting paid with room and board. I was told that she pulled a glade plugin out three times one day... hmmm... think a minute... one time, is understandable... two times, something is fishy.... three times, the child is not being watch which is totally unacceptable. Wise up people. -ironmonk
homeschoolmom
Ironmonk... I say this with all due respect (and in complete ignorance because I know that there could very well be a logical answer to my question that I am not thinking of....) Why is she still living in your house caring for your child? It sounds like she is a danger.

I can't afford daycare right now, I had a talk with her, and am looking for daycare that I can afford. She's been watching Olivia properly since I had the talk... and only goes online when the baby is sleeping in her crib. But my original point to the thread was that there are some seriously foolish ways to pick who to vote for. I was extremely tired yesterday and got sidetracked while venting.
