It is the altar girls, modern music, standing around the altar, women in the sanctuary, etc; that are the new ideas. Some of these things have been allowed by Pope's Paul VI and John Paul II, who are not conservative.

The liturgy is not ours; it's not the Churchmen's. It's Christ's. Many holy men and women (the saints) have given us extra insight's into worship which is truly pleasing to God. No canonized saint who died before the late 1960's would be familiar with the Mass of today.
