Is it not a day of obligation?

What about tomorrow?
Nope, All Saints is not a holy day this year because it is on a Monday. It smells of elderberries. I'm going to Mass anyway, can't miss the oppurtunity to go on such a great day. Tomorrow is not an obligation any year, but it is still great to go and pray for all the souls.

All Saints' Day Message
"I Offer a Special Prayer for Victims of Terrorism"

VATICAN CITY, NOV. 1, 2004 (Zenit.org).- Here is a translation of the All Saints' Day address John Paul II delivered before he prayed the midday Angelus with pilgrims gathered in St. Peter's Square.

* * *

"Let us all rejoice in the Lord and keep a festival in honor of all the saints." The Eucharistic celebration today in honor for all the saints begins with this invitation to be jubilant. The pilgrim Church on earth lifts its gaze to heaven and triumphantly unites with the choirs comprised of those whom God has brought together in his glory. This is the communion of saints!

In the very light of this stupendous mystery, tomorrow we celebrate the annual commemoration of all the faithful who have passed away. The liturgy invites us to open our hearts to pray for all, especially for those souls most in need of God's divine mercy. I offer a special prayer to God for all the victims of terrorism. I feel spiritually close to all their families and while I ask the Lord to relieve their sorrow, I ask him to grant peace to the world.

I pray that Mary, the Queen of all saints, helps us to faithfully follow Christ in order to reach the glory of heaven.

homeschoolmom

we went to mass this morning (is there time off in purgatory for bringing three tired, suger-loaded children to mass against their will?)

The school kids had all made wonderful banners to honor various saints. It was a great learning experience.

Mad Props to my patron Saint - St Augustine, who at times seems to be taken his sweet little time interceeding for me but hey, I love ya man!

uh oh did I ruin it?

sorry.

And to my Mother in Heaven, who never forgets me or lets me get to far from Her Son.

Pray for us Mother that we all be made worthy of the promises or Christ.

So it wasn't a holy day of obligation this year? I was trying like forever to find a Mass but everywhere I went they already had one or something...

And can't believe I forgot two of my fav saints St. Monica and St. Maria Goretti.
