Duc_In_Altum
Hey a bunch of the guys and myself here at Benedictine College are fasting until the election tuesday. It's just kind of a way to sacrifice and remain prayerful with the spiritual mindset of "God's will be done" and to pray for strong leadership against the culture of death. What we're doing is similar to an Ash Wednesday fast. We eat one normal meal and two small meals each day. The two small meals shouldn't be enough to equal the one normal meal. We are also not eating between them. If you would like to join us spiritually that would be great. We're trying to get a huge spiritual coalition for life goin here. Tell your friends. Anyway, God bless. In faith, hope, and Christ, -Joe

Fiat_Voluntas_Tua
Just remember: Fasting is nothing unless it is tied to the Cross...That tie must be a humble one. Without humility there is almost a worse outcome than if you never fasted in the first place. For you begin to slowly build with pride, a pride that imitates humility and prayerfulness. It is a pride that wants everyone to know the good works and sacrifices one has done. It wants to brag. At first the bragging isn't for oneself but for "a light unto others"...be careful with this. Remember the Gospel of Matthew: "When you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites. They neglect their appearance, so that they may appear to others to be fasting. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that you may not appear to be fasting, except to your Father who is hidden. And your Father who sees what is hidden will repay you. " Mat. 6:16-18 When you fast do not appear to be fasting, do not let anyone know you are fasting...a fast is between you and God. I know what pride can do to fasting, giving alms, prayer...destroy it...it happened to me. for more fasting sacrifice's go to: www.E5men.com Totus Tuus, Andy

Paladin D
Can't fast, I'm sick right now. Though I can't eat anything with caffiene at the time being (which includes chocolate, the best food in the world). So can that be my sacrifice, instead of a full fast?
