Yeah...you wanna know the sad thing? I don't get to vote because the registration people didn't have any forms for requesting absentee ballots...I'm only registered to vote in Douglas County (i.e. Omaha), 45 minutes away...and I don't have a ride...:(
It is your duty as an American citizen to vote.
While I am 100% in favor of people voting, I am not sure I would agree that it is a "duty"... I think of it more as a privilage... Some countries have mandatory voting, we do not.

Yeah, but having been given that privilage, it is our duty to take advantage of it.

I feel so bad that I can't. :(

You should go the head voting office in your area (usually the county tax assesor or something like that) and request to vote on a limited ballot. That means you will only be able to vote on those offices that are in common with the county where you are registered.

They will let you vote, usually. If not, call the ACLU . . . make sure they think you're voting for Kerry or they won't return your call! :P

I voted absentee a while back, like a lil over a week ago. Voting absentee is cool because you can actually be an informed voter (by looking everyone up online). I'd highly reccomend it if you can meet the criteria.

fulfilling our duty to vote, in order to choose those representatives who will best
