Now here's the real question...

As a Catholic stationed on said ship, could I object to his presence on religious grounds? And/or could I demand that an exorcism be done?

Further, what is the UK Navy doing to ensure the safety of the Eucharist on board that ship? Can you just sense the tension in the Chaplain/Satanist's office?

And how does a Satanist minister to the rest of the folks exactly? I can see how a "Christian" Chaplain could at least pray with a Catholic and give some sacraments in dire emergencies...

And if I'm an atheist in the UK Navy does that mean you have to hire just someone to make me feel good when I'm down?

Ok, that was more than one question, but I demand some answers.

This is especially strange since the UK has an official State Church, the Church of England.

(LOL, I can just see SNL and the Church Lady having a ball with this one. )

I gotta admit though, Satanists get to do really kool things like cast spells on people, and stuff like that that we Catholics don't get to do. :sadder:

I don't know what their idea of heaven is like, but hell for them is like the coldest place on earth, like the opposite of hell. You would think though that heaven would be a place of punishment, and hell would be a place of eternal sin and delight, but those Satanists sure are funny! :-D

no matter what they think hell is like, when they get there they will realize that their soul was made for God and seperated from Him they will be tormented beyond their wildest dreams. hell is bad for everybody. satan is tortured, the demon angels are tortured, the souls that wanted to go there are tortured. you cannot go to hell and enjoy it.

Shame, but Britain committed itself to religious tolerance. I should point out, Satanism is not officially sponsored by the Navy, it's just that one captain on one ship allowed one Satanist to perform rituals, and captains of British ships have a huge amount of personal power over their vessels.

are they allowed to perform black masses? because that should be illegal, and if I was in the British Navy on that ship I would bust up any type of black mass regardless of how much the religiously tolerant captain dislikes it, cause satanism is not religiously tolerant, it desecrates another religion!

Well, because it's only one guy it wouldn't be much of a mass. Besides, my bet is that the frigate's chaplian is kepping his eye on him....

What I want to know is: Where is the Anglican Communion's voice on this? Where is the Archbishop of Canterbury? Why aren't there statements from every Anglican Bishop in the U.K. condemning this and demanding that the government do something about it?

But, for that matter, where are the Catholic Bishops? There are a few of them there, although they don't have nearly as much influence as the Anglican bishops.

They are all busy trying to persuade the government to change the Gambling Bill.
