Duc_In_Altum
I've always heard mixed opinions regarding Monty Python films. Some find em as an attack on the Catholic Church. Others say it's all in how you take it. What do yall think? -Joe ps- to my limited computer knowledge, "MEH" means something like "im indifferent to the matter" or something. I wasn't sure if it fit here or not. Sorry if it has no place in this poll. I hope that someday, you'll look deep down into your hearts *violin music swells and makes you start to tear up* and find a little place there where you can forgive me. dUSt
If it wasn't for Monty Python, I'd have no visual of God for when I pray...

Yea for the vast majority of it all, it really makes me chuckle and provides for some long lasting quotes and entertainment. Some of the stuff on "the meaning of life" though, made me skip some scenes. -Joe
cathoholic
Does he really move his jaw like that when he talks?... I mean yeah, it's kind of offensive but I've only seen the "holy grail" once or twice so... MEH!

heyyoimjohnny
Monty Python is pretty crappy stuff... but it's hilarious. I think if people don't take it seriously, they have no reason to be offended. "IT'S THE BISHOP!" *dramatic music, short scene* "IT'S THE BISHOP!" *dramatic music, short scene of bishop* "IT'S THE BISHOP!" *repeats* LOL
joemal1117
The Quest for the Holy Grail is hilarious.... It's true absurdity.. no satire here. As for Life of Brian-- offensive and The meaning of life-- Offensive as well/ Now the TV show was really funny. The spanish Inquisition is one of the best pieces of sketch comedy ever.. and who can resisit a plate of spam, spam, spam, bacon, sausage, eggs and spam. mmmm spam
Laudate_Dominum
I have reservations about the Holy Grail movie. it has a number of questionable and offensive parts, but the Life of Brian and the Meaning of Life are anti-Catholic and radically offensive. Peace.
Sanvean
I confess that a long, long time ago(am I allowed saying that when I was born in 1983? Meh.), I was essentially raised on Monty Python. It warped my sense of humour for life(in fact, it also warped a great deal of my spiritual formation, but that's another story entirely)... but you know... I really don't find it as funny any more. I can be a bit of an odd ball, but I remember watching it last year with a friend in media studies... and... it just wasn't the same. Well, it was the same, clearly, but I wasn't. There's a difference between satire and derisive mockery.

shelly_freak
NI NI NI NI NI!!!! Oh, what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say "Ni" at will to old ladies. There is a pestilence upon this land! nothing is sacred. Even those who arrange and design shrubberies are under considerable economic stress at this point in time. Did you say shrubberies? Yes. Shrubberies are my trade. I am a shrubber. My name is Roger the Shrubber. I arrange, design, and sell shrubberies.
