Is this the same "amesome, encouragingest, legend whose spiritual understand goes far beyond that for which people give him credit?"

Yes...I can see the wisdom and pure light shining forth from all his posts!

Skuba Steve has a relationship with God that you have to see to believe. If anyone is to judge his heart then I know that only one person is allowed to make that judgement. That person is JESUS the CHRIST. Anyone else who passes judgement is putting themselves in the place of Christ. This attitude belongs to the ANTICHRIST. Be careful how you judge others!

Scripture tells us that we will know fellow Christians by their love.

I don't presume to know everything about Steve. I never said I did. I can only know what he reveals.

What he has revealed so far on this phorum leaves much to be desired, if he expects others to think of him as a Christian.

Perhaps you'd like to do a search of his past posts, and see how Christ-like they have been, before you go pointing fingers at any of us and calling us the Anti-Christ!!!!

Being anti-Steve's smart alec unChristian wanker posts is not being the Anti-Christ. That is a very extremist view.

Also, judging does belong to Jesus Christ. I'm not the one who goes around here saying who is saved and who isn't. THAT is putting oneself in the place of Christ. THAT is judging.

Being fully aware that someone's posts are arrogant and rude is simply being aware of the obvious.

Scripture says that what is in a man's heart comes out of his mouth...perhaps in the internet, it comes through his fingers.

If that is the case, read what comes from your friend's heart on this phorum. What he does with his life outside this phorum, few of us have any clue. We can only observe what he discloses of himself. It isn't impressive.

Note the subtle, but still applicable, differences.

Sorry, Good Friday.

I think you missed the point.

You can insert whatever name you want there.

Then go to that person's name and read their past posts.

ALL of Skuba Steve's posts are vitriole.

Most of IronMonk's posts are historically based, quotes from his vast collection of the writings of the Early Church Fathers.

Besides, it wasn't IronMonk who Shackled was calling the Anti-Christ; it was me.

(Remember what you've said in the past? You often lash out at the ones who are making the most sense, when you don't want to hear it? I pray this is just another one of those times. Love ya.)

I'm certainly not defending Steve, nor is it my intention to single out Ironmonk. My point was that this is a two-sided coin; many of the posts made here by Catholics and non-Catholics (including me) are full of harsh words and condemnation. My point, in mentioning Ironmonk, is that you can't very well single someone out -- in this case, Steve -- as worse than all the others when there are many, many others on this phorum who contribute to the hostile tone of the discussions here.

As for anyone calling anyone the anti-Christ or an anti-Christ, I would think that would be entirely uncalled for. If Jesus is in the business of deciding such things, I'm sure he'll decide at some point who is anti-him and who isn't, and if you're (not "you" as in you, Anna, but "you" as in a general you) not careful about passing judgment on others, you may find much to your surprise that you're one of the ones he considers anti-him.

It was not my intention to lash out at anyone, though; only to point out that there are too many people here who contribute to the hostile environment to single out just one.

Sorry Anna but I did not accuse anyone of BEING the ANTICHRIST. If you read the post you will discover that I made a statement about an attitude that we must ALL be extremely careful to avoid. If, however, you choose to recognise this as a personal attack, please accept my apology.

"Many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh; such is the deceitful one and the antichrist."

1 John 7 (am i citing this write, since there's no chapters? or should i say 1 John 1:7?)

so for no apparent reason, i'm going to muse on 1 attitude that is the antichrist. notice the same SAINT JOHN mentioning Christ coming down from heaven. Notice in John 6 he shows Christ talking about coming from heaven, coming in the flesh, and His flesh is the true food. i think John saw denial of the Eucharist as the true flesh of the LORD as an antiChrist attitude.

anyway, many sins can be called the antiChrist, and lack of virtue can be called the antiChrist, as Christ is perfect and anything short of perfect is thus against Him. i admit, there is some of antiChrist in all of us, including me, and i pray every day not my imperfect will, but His perfect one be done that i may not have antiChrist in me, but be filled with Christ. so, yeah we should all avoid an antiChrist attitude.

i dont pass judgement on anyone on this thread though, as i have no knowledge of what is in the hearts as they type. when posts come across as mean, sometimes it isn't cuz the person isn't being Christlike, sometimes it's cause this form of communication is not the way God intended us to communicate originally, he gave us facial expressions and tones of voice to get our point accross better. no amount of smilie faces will come close to measuring up to the intricate details of our God-given faces.

anyway,

Let us all be more Christlike!

Well, Steve did enjoy a humor break, so don't get too hard on the kid....he does have a side to him that's not a troublemaker....I'd like to get to know that side better....

Amen to that! :) It's definitely a challenge and we all fail at times!
