Paladin D
While we are all called to this act every Sunday, and even every day, I worry that if we aren't careful we will lose the signifigance of what is happening and it can become routine. I'm still in awe about what I just participated in. I hope every Sunday will always bring the same awe, and that my relationship with God will only continue to grow deeper.
This is what I pray as well. Sometimes I feel the awe strongly, sometimes it's only a little.

Mrs. Bro. Adam
For my side: I'm just sitting there, thinking, I can't believe I finally get to partake of the Eucharist! Ok..breathe...just breathe....Ok...it's coming up....keeping breathing. Focus on God. Thank you God for just allowing me this privlege to take part and be part of your family. Ok...the bread's broken, the communion song is starting. Here we go. I get up, and I'm making sure I have my hands right. Fr. Don puts the body of Christ in my hand, I think, Wow! That's pretty big piece.
The body of Christ
'Amen' I put the piece in my mouth and hear Fr. Don say,
Now you drink the blood of Christ
I'm thinking, Better make it quick...haven't even been able to chew the piece is so big.
The blood of Christ
'Amen' I take a sip of the cup and I think that sure is sweet wine. I keep chewing the body of Christ as I go back to my seat and kneel down. After I knelt back down I thought, So this is what it's like to be whole! The void within me has been filled! Praise be to God!. I kneel there, just adoring our Lord, fighting back tears, because it is this day that my life has been preparing me for! And it was here! I'm finally Catholic! Other than my wedding, this was the happiest day of my life!

Katholikos
The Spirit of Catholicism is an excellent book. If you need it back I can always send it back, or it may eventually be passed on to another Catholic-to-be one day. Let me know. Thank you for being a friend on this journey with us Likos
Bro and Mrs. Adam, Oh, no, I don't want the books back. They are yours to do with as you wish. Sorry I bailed out on you just as you crossed the mountain and were on the downhill slope but, as I think you know, I became ill. Now you can sing, "I once was blind but now I see" with even greater gusto! The Lord bless you and keep you: The Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you: The Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace. (Numbers 6:24-26) I am blessed to have shared your journey. Anna
Congratulations, Adam and Teresa! What a joy filled day yesterday was for the both of us! My parish began it's observation of the Year of the Eucharist yesterday with Mass, followed by a Eucharistic procession all around the block. The Knights of Columbus in full feathers marched with a banner, as did the Daughters of Isabella. About a dozen altar boys processed with candles, crosses, and incense. Father was accompanied by our deacon as he carried the monstrance on the sunny, crisp autumn day. It was beautiful. The worshippers who followed sang hymns. When they arrived back at the Church following the procession, the monstrance was placed upon the altar for 7 straight hours of adoration. During my hour, I tried to remember everyone I could to Our Lord. I returned later in the evening for just shy of another hour's adoration, and Benediction. I can honestly tell you (since I rode to my First Holy Communion upon a dinasour!) that your appreciation and intensity will only grow and grow, the more you focus your life upon the Source and Summit of our Faith! God Bless you and keep you always in the folds of His Sacred Heart. Pax Christi. <>< Edited October 25, 2004 by Anna
