At my school (jr high/elementry) we had a fun fair every year. The 8th graders were the ones who put on the haunted house for the rest of the school. That was so much fun!

No, but she dressed up as one once...

She used to stand on the porch all night with scary music and sounds blaring over the whole neighborhood, all the lights in the house turning on and off at different times, a preserved lamb's brain and a preserved eyeball and a jar of pig embryos, phony tombstones out in the yard, an electric storm ball, scary masks on the porch lamp, a stuffed pair of jeans sticking out of the garage door like it closed on some little boy, and she'd yell out, "come in, come in, I have a double oven!"

:P

There was this one little girl who tried to run away so fast that she tripped, flipped in the air, and fell on her head on our driveway. My mom was thinking, "uh oh, lawsuit," but the dad picked the girl up, turned to my mom, gave a thumbs up and said, "great house!"

:P

Thy Geekdom Come

My little brother and I took over for her a few years ago...we like a more ominous tone, so we do a lot of the same stuff, but we leave the front door open (with the screen door locked)...

Well, we have this long entryway to my house, so we turned off all the lights and had my brother stand in a skeleton suit with a Scream mask and a blacklight shining on him...he looked like a novelty statue...

Well...when kids came by and looked at him and said, "oh, cool statue," he would run at them and smack up against the door...

:rolling:

I wish I lived in the rich neighorhood next to ours...one house gave out 1 lb. bags of m&ms once...

I love that stuff.

I used to do that to my parent's house every year, even after I moved out, until I got married and had kids. People used to come from other cities to see the house. It was cool. Now I follow my kids around on Halloween. I am one of those parents that dress up though. I like it.

Same happened to me. I was standing like a statue, wearing a ghoul costume, with a shovel looking like I was digging a grave when this guy came up to look at me. I scared him so bad that he knocked over his 3 year old who fell and hit her head on the cement. She cried and I immedietely ran over to her unwittingly still wearing my mask and she screamed bloody murder. I took off my mask and she stopped crying right then and there looking at me like I was a magician that pulled a rabbit out of a hat. Needless to say she ended up with about half of the whole bowl of candy. She was cute. They came every year after that and still do even though I have not setup my parents house in years.
