CatholicforChrist
Can someone please tell me why I got this message placed on my name. I do not know if there is some mistake. It says "I do not rep the Church" on my name. I am Catholic; why don't I rep the Church?! I have seen this on a few names, but I do not know why I was given one. Can whoever does this please clarify? Also, I just realized that I am in a group called Phishy also. What is this? Edited October 20, 2004 by CatholicforChrist
Thy Geekdom Come
Phishy means you claim to be Catholic but don't seem to be representing Catholic teaching fairly. Your "Hello. I do not rep the Church" badge means that you do not represent Catholic teaching. I'm not certain, but after reviewing your posts, I would guess that the reason you have this badge and group is because you might be in violation of the following rule:
Catholic vs Catholic Debate- a post or comment that results in doctrinal debates that might cause scandal among the faithful. *Effective immediately, any negative criticism of the current Magisterium will result in deletion, and a warning from the moderators. This includes but is not limited to criticism of the Novus Ordo mass and/or our Holy Father.
You seem to be advocating traditionalist viewpoints. But then, that's just my guess. It's simply a judgement call on my part, so any issues should be taken up with me privately.

CatholicforChrist
Hi dUst, thank you for the reply. How can I go about contacting you privately? I tried to use the private message and email, but I can't because I am not allowed to use those apparently (as a result of my new group?). I just want to say here at least that I believe all that the Church teaches, am obedient to our local Bishop, and follow the teachings of my priests. I go to a Mass that is approved by the Church, the Pope, and my Bishop. I go to the Mass for the FSSP, an Order specifically created by the Holy Father himself. We love the Pope here, and I completely believe what he teaches and what the Church teaches. I just wanted you to know that. God bless.

D0RK4JP2
I hope i don't get caught in that 'traditionalist' bracket too. I think it can be a interpretation of a bi-product of over-zealousness. There is one thing in having difficulty to the truths of the Church and publicaly denying it: one makes you Catholic, the other makes you a heretic. Cardinal Newman said, '1000 difficulties do not equal a doubt.' Also there are three levels of obediance that we should, somehow, fit into in our search for truth in the Catholic teachings: 3) you don't want to be obediant but you've been told to be obediant, so you are. 2) you want to be obediant but you want to sus it out 1st 1) you are totally obediant from stop2go without an greviance at all. Being stated as 'phishy' could have been a confusion of some of these levels of obediance or you having a certain level of difficulty. That's just my 2cents worth. I haven't specifically read over any of your posts so i'm not leaning towards anything. Also, my oppinion doesn't really matter cuz im just a NEWBIE ! The two pillars in St John Bosco's dream - The Eucharist (Jesus) and Mary. CLING TO THEM! JMJ.
