mamalove
This might be a little off the subject, but I thought it was kinda funny (and a little sad, too) that I was the only one in my lamaze class that already was and planning to be a housewife/stay-at-home-mom. This was a class of about 25 couples too. I realize that many people have to, but I would never elect to have a daycare raise my child.
homeschoolmom
I got into an argument with one of my college professors (before I was even married-- but engaged). I argued that, yes in fact, I did plan to marry and be a SAHM. And he argued that I wasn't being realistic... :irate:
Luthien
Lol, ignorance says I. Mommyhood is a most honorable state in life.

That's the beauty of what I want to do for a living. I should be able to have plenty of family time, especially if my wife does the same kind of work. I meant that if she were out in the labor force (I don't want to say "not working," because SAHM is a full-time job), it would be very convenient if we had the same job, which for me will be something along the lines of theology professor, youth minister, and/or lecturer. Birgitta Noel
I have an AB in Philosophy and American Studies (emphasis in American Lit) from Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Lynchburg, VA and an MA Philosophy (with a thesis on geriatric ethics and just distribution of cardiovascular interventions) from Michigan State Univ. Now I'm working on a PhD in Health Care Ethics at St. Louis Univ. There's not much you can do with an MA in Phil, though I spent a good three years with a PBS station and recently was on Faculty at a med school as a fellowship coordinator. I don't know if I'll homeschool, but if I do my ed will def come in handy!
Coloradomommy
I have some college and am working towards a degree in secondary education with a specialty in spanish. But at the moment I find it a better use of my time to educate my own children.

Kilroy the Ninja
I have my Associates in English and I'm currently working on a BA in either History or Literature (I'm leaning towards History). Funny thing is, I have no plans to do anything with my degree. Just gettin' it to get it.

Guest motherhen
Senior only, no University. Honestly wasn't interested in it. When the baby starts school in about 3 years I'll look into going back to work, but I'd be just as happy being a 'check-out chick' at bi-Lo or Big W! If I was to look into anything at University or TAFE, it'd be along the lines of fashion, textiles or craft.
