Duc_In_Altum
Now confession is one of my favorite aspects of the Catholic Church. It allows for such an amazing spirit to flow into us because afterwords we are totally clean. That leads to a new level of awareness of Christ's prescence and glory in the liturgy. Many people have described to me this feeling of "a ton bricks being lifted" after confession. I have to say i can't relate. I love the sacrament but i have never really felt this huge sensation that so many have described to me. I have no problem with this reality just because i know feelings are chaff in the wind compared with the truth of salvation that Christ has to offer. I just wondering what everyone else has felt after the sacrament. In faith, hope, and Jesus Christ, -Joe

toledo_jesus
my first Divine Mercy Sunday was so beautiful. 7 hours of prayer, singing the rosary and the Divine Mercy chaplet...and then the confession. I made the most comprehensive list I think I ever will make. I confessed everything! When I walked outside, the world was brighter. It was truly a blessing. It was also the first time I really meant it when I said I would sin no more. It was powerful. Edited October 20, 2004 by toledo_jesus
lanie
No unfortunatly not and I've only been to confession three times in my life, once when I was 7, Aug '03 and Aug '04.

jgirl
When I was younger I hated going to confession. Once one of my friends dragged me because I didn't want to go. Last Lent, I finally saw the beauty of it and now I want to go all the time (but I limit myself to once every week or two)! It's an amazing feeling to be free from the sins that weigh us down like bricks.
Sanvean
I remember my first confession(haha, like that's hard, since it was less than half a year ago). I was in horror... the things I've done in my life!! A million terrors went running through my mind... I was literally trembling, but... Father was so gentle. I was floored. The night, I wrote this to a friend of mine(a philosophy masters student), who had walked with me since long before I was even willing to acknowledge the existance of a God of any sort. : "I'm still working on integrating the experiences of the past few days, but they have certainly been both intense and at times terrifying. I remember thinking that the Sacrament of Reconciliation really is a beautiful example of God's love for us. We can be small, terrified and at our worst, but He is there for us, loving us." I love Confession.... such grace! -Veronica
