Donna
One thing I hated as a young 'un: why do women put on these wiles to "get men" to do a particular thing? Answer: Because of the sometimes unreasonable-ness of men. I now know that if men were reasonable, women wouldn't have to do this. And if I'd known that in the first place, no 15-year tangent into feminism. Mrs. Bro, I like you. But I must add that I've a great husband. Take C-Mom's advice! Kilroy the Ninja
One thing I hated as a young 'un: why do women put on these wiles to "get men" to do a particular thing? My "getting" him to do anything wiles usually consist of constant harranging. Not terribly efficient but effective and unfortunate. It's hard to be wiley once you've had to resort to harranging. But DJ's right, it's a fair trade 'cause I do get to stay home (most of the time) now.
jasJis
One thing I hated as a young 'un: why do women put on these wiles to "get men" to do a particular thing? I asked the love of my life (who happens to be my wife of 20 years) this question last night. She told me that after the first 5 years she got bored with just snapping her fingers and pointing. She said using her "wiles" amuses her. I'm sorry I asked.

Jas: +L+L+L++L Ladies: Always let them suffer the consequence of their actions. example: If the laundry doesn't reach the laundry basket, you don't do it. THen when they can't find their favorite ugly sweatshirt - what a tragedy - you smile. If dishes don't find their way to the sink, they don't get washed. If the dishes don't get washed, you serve sandwiches on napkins. They give you that funny look - you smile. We owe it to ourselves, not to enable behavior that makes unnecessary work. :)
Kilroy the Ninja
Yay Cmom! I really like that. And since I've been working some this week, not much has been done. But when he couldn't walk through the living for all the stuff the baby had played with, amazingly some of it got picked up.... hmmmm.. (Love you Don John!)
BullnaChinaShop
Right now Marielapin and I go through cycles of letting stuff pile up and cleaning. With us both working we usually work together to get the house cleaned up. As she stated earlier she usually cleans the kitchen because I do almost all the cooking. cmotherofpirl
As long as you do the dishes as well...my husband uesd to dirty every dish and pan just to make a can of soup.

Actually Lauren is more likely to do that than me. I usually keep things somewhat cleaned up as I cook. My mom drilled that into me.
marielapin
It's true, sometimes I'm a dirty cook. But I actually don't mind doing the dishes too much, which I think is a good thing since I'm always doing them.
cmotherofpirl
never start cooking unless you have the sink ready with hot soapy water first. Edited October 3, 2003 by cmotherofpirl
Mrs. Bro. Adam
I just ask that one room once a week is cleaned by him...kinda figured that a man would know that he should clean up after himself. I mean, isn't that what mothers are constantly trying to teach their sons? ;)

IcePrincessKRS
We try dearie, we try. Wives can offer better rewards than moms. Oh my... haha... that was a good one... and so true... I don't require Matt to do much other than take out the trash, anything else he does he does on his own because he wants to do something nice for me. Yesterday he did the dishes and made me breakfast. :)
Mrs. Bro. Adam
LOL... I just ask that the bathroom be cleaned once a week by my husband. There are days where I am exhausted and ask him to put away the clean dishes (never more than a sink-full worth). But, oh well.....Can I blame it on him being a man?!!!!! ;)
