franciscanheart
I stayed up all night two nights ago. Then last night I went to bed at around 9:15 and got up this afternoon at 3. After Mass tonight, at 8:30 and really around 8:45ish I feel asleep driving!! So my question is this.... how many of you have done the same thing?? Piccoli Fiori JMJ
A friend of mine's sister fell asleep while driving at high speeds and got into an accident. Thank God she didn't hit any cars head on, but she went across two lanes of oncoming traffic! Falling asleep at the wheel is dangerous! Don't frighten me! I know you are okay, but do be careful! Drink some water before you go or take some with you if you are sleepy. Water somehow keeps you somewhat awake... don't ask me how...

Theoketos
I came close one time. After driving for nine hours back from Kansas... So got out and sprinted for half a mile after downing red bull from a Gas station in the middle of nowhere, and then I finished driving home... Duc_In_Altum
I can definately relate. I ran varsity cross country daily my senior year of high school. Nearly every single day, id fight to stay awake coming home. My evening commute could take anywhere from 30-50 minutes depending on how many kids i took home and the st. louis traffic i faced. I actually had this spot on the highway that if id be fighting sleep before i got to it, i knew it was going to be a tough commute. One time i fell asleep at a stoplight for about 2 minutes (my carpool and myself calculated. not sure though cuz they were asleep too). It's never happened actually while i was moving. I'd doze off and shut my eyes, but id almost immeadiately wake up and shake my head to stay alert. I've definately had a couple of close calls though. -Joe
homeschoolmom
It is the college thing to do, sadly. A girl I knew in college was killed when she fell asleep, crossed the lane and ran into a semi.

mattosika
I voted Yes, but i don't think i've actually fallen asleep, my head has nodded a few times then when i realise I better turn the subs on or somethin to keep me awake, praying the rosery in the car puts me to sleep i can't pray more than one decade at a time. The thing that gets me is that i will dose off more during the day then when I drive at night figure that
