theculturewarrior
TCW!! your good!! do i have to buy a missal before I attend one? and if i do which one?
A missal would help, but I've been about two or three times and I still have trouble following the missal. And my missal was expensive. The one I got was the Saint Andrew's Daily Missal. I believe it was printed in 1952 (or was it 1945? I confuse the year with the price.) Anyway, you could probably find a website that you could print up the order and the propers. I would try google first. And failing that, I would try a used bookstore.
theculturewarrior
oh, if your grandparents are Catholic you might ask them if they have any missals from the old days.

homeschoolmom
Watch a Mass on EWTN. They sing the Latin version. It might help.
We don't have cable... We like singing it our way. Then when she hears it in mass, it clicks as to where it fits. Does that make any sense? We heard a Latin mass on the radio and enjoyed singing along...
popestpiusx
Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus Dominus Deus sabbaoth. Pleni sunt caeli et terra gloria Tua Hosanna in excelsis Benedictus qui venit in nomine Domini. Hosanna in excelsis. (hsdaughter and I are learning Latin. ) We sing this around the house to the melody of our parish's English version.
If you are able to sing it to that tune, it is most likely that the tune your parish uses was borrowed from the Latin version.
