foundsheep
A prot. friend asked me today if I was going to allow my boys to dress up and Trick or treat this year. I said yes. He then went into stuff about devil worshippers and stuff like that. I told him that maybe it started that way but I viewed it as innocent childhood fun. I mean my kids dont know about that stuff. They know about jesus though. To them halloween is just what it is , get dressed up and beg for candy. He said his church does something else that night like a festival. Am I wrong for letting my kids do what I did as a child. I think it would mean something diffrent if we really took that carp(devil stuff) that serious. It's just fun, and it isn't sinful. I hate private interpritation. Dancing's a sin. Drinking's a sin. Anything outside of being a hermit is a sin. Give me a break. Ask yourself if Mary would let Jesus "trick or treat". I'm sure she would! But she'd prolly xray the candy before he ate it! LOL!
marielapin
I personally don't like Halloween. I like the candy, I like dressing up. But I really don't like seeing a bunch of kids dressing up like Freddy Krougar. I don't know, call me crazy. I don't think it is "evil", though. It just makes me a bit uncomfortable. You're right. Now that I think of it. It used to be different. Costume trends follow very closely to the "fashion" trends. Little girls dressed like (dare I say) prostitutes. Boys crossdressing. Et. I guess I was picturing myself. I dressed up like a gypsi (sp?) one time. I think that was the most "evil" costume I wore! LOL.
marielapin
The most evil costume I ever wore was a pirate. Or a hippy. I think I got turned off from Halloween in college, when all the girls dressed up like prostitutes, playboy bunnies, or scantily clad kitty cats and devils and were proud of it, and the guys dressed up like giant male parts, or hacked up zombies. marielapin
How bout a power ranger and a oompa loompa? Â Now oompa loompas are cool!!! I don't think I've ever seen a kid dress up as an oompa looompa. That would rock. Oh and I think clowns are kinda scary too. Ever since I saw Killer Klowns from Outer Space!
cmotherofpirl
Our Church used to sponser a haunted house in our old school building. We raised over $10,000 for charity.

Dave
I had a friend who dressed as a condom for Halloween! But you know what the best Halloween costume would be? If I had a girlfriend, I'd have us go to a Halloween party wearing formal attire -- a tux and an evening gown. BUT . . . I'd have her wear the tux, and I'd wear the evening gown! I'd also wear a wig and makeup, and she'd wear her hair done up so it looks shorter. Or perhaps she could wear a top hat! And of course, I'd have fake boobs!
