Ash Wednesday
I didn't watch all of it because it would've made me too agitated and jittery. So I went to the grocery store and bought a nice yummy rotisserie chicken, a reader magazine and some other nibbles. I was worried that Bush would get creamed, but apparently Bush did really well. The Fox people were a bit more critical towards Bush in the first couple but they are singing his praises now. I mean of course we can never tell with Fox but considering they had more criticism toward him earlier, Bush probably did well. CNN even had a couple of nice snippets in favor of Bush. I want to watch some other networks to see what they had to say, to be fair.
Ash Wednesday
Apparently the focus group audience response was very negative when Kerry brought up Cheney's daughter, like Edwards did. I mean, there's no question that Cheney differs from the president on this, and is somewhat viewed as a negative with conservatives, but I don't think that was a very wise thing for either Kerry or Edwards to bring up. Obviously Cheney's daughter, I don't support her lifestyle nor for her to marry, but I highly respect that she's honoring her father, working hard for him, and the president's campaign. Kerry should have left that alone. She's not running for office.
ilovechrist
that's a really harsh insult to bring upon Cheney.. geesh.

dUSt
This was Bush's best performance. Kerry was about the same as he has been from the first debate. Bush came across as more human and less politician. Kerry was specifically asked about what he thought of Catholic bishops disagreeing with his stance on abortion. He said "I don't agree with them". He also brought up the "faith without works is dead" scripture again, which I think only confused people.
Guest Aluigi
Bush almost called major news networks biased at one point , it was something like "i don't think you can trust what news networks... eh.. nevermind" that was AWESOME! He was like, wait, no, if i say something they'll probably be even more critical of me!
FutureSoror
I think that Kerry started out sounding better, but Bush came out on top. And you're right, Bush sounded more human.

toledo_jesus
GUYS, BUSH ROCKED!!!!!! He won this one. It wasn't overwhelming, but he won. Clearly. Kerry's comments about the bishops really aggravated me. He seemed not to have a good answer to the question of why he doesn't agree with the Church. UNfortunately, I agreed with him when he said that a lot of people feel the way he does. The prayers I said for the President really paid off. I'm so relieved now. Thy Geekdom Come
I noticed that James 2:26 thing, too... Finally, I think I might get what he was trying to say, although it could only come from the mind of someone who didn't understand Scripture... I think he tried to use James 2:26 to justify his arrogance in rejecting Church teaching. I think he was trying to say, "I have faith, therefore my works (i.e. voting record, policies, etc.) must be good," which is a clear misunderstanding of the verse, lol... Of course, I can't read minds, so that's only a guess...

Good thing I didn't have beans for lunch!
