Teresa I'll be praying for you extra this week as you prepare to make your first confession! You'll probably be a little nervous on your way in, but believe me, when you come out you will feel SOOO incredible! The feeling cannot be put into words. Its just amazing. :)

I think you're being a little too "cradle" catholic in your worries over Confession. We also call it Reconcilliation. You've got to remember you're just about doing the "sinner's prayer" and re-accepting "Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior" all over again and it's just like the first time you were "born again". Like the Pentecostals say, "you're gettig 'right' with Jesus". You know that everything is right and reconciled with you and God and you are 'saved' and know you would go to heaven if you were to die before you commit a mortal sin (something you know is Bad you do on purpose anyway).

Man. It's so cool to be Catholic.

Teresa, we will all be there in more than spirit. We will all be there in Christ.

Remember, you'll be in Communion with us, as well. ;)

I'm going to be Confirmed at the Easter Vigil as well! [/quote]
Wow, Paladin that is awesome news.

And Teresa, I worried about first confession too, I guess its just human to do so. They aren't lying about how you feel afterwards though. Even more so than Red Bull, it gives you wings!!! :)

Confession is SO awesome...it's always intimidating, until you get to the point where you go twice a month...then it's only intimidating 90% of the time...but it's well worth it!

I was just watching Mother Angelica and she said that you should pray for the help of your guardian angel if you're afraid of Confession. ;)

Our Priest called last night and asked me when I had wanted to come and do my confession. He had asked whether I wanted to do it during the regular scheduled confessionals (Saturdays from 3:30P-4:30P) or if I wanted to come earlier, or later.

I told him I got out of work on Saturdays at usually around 1P, and would prefer to go right after work. He said that he'd write down in his planner 1P+ an angel will be coming down.

I still don't know what that was supposed to mean.

Hmmm, maybe that your guardian angel would be there as well? Or that once you've received absolution that your soul is as pure as that of an angel?

I'd be interested to hear his answer!
