Physically mortal sins in OT

So I got to thinking...in the Old Testament, God reserves very specific sins and situations that require the death penalty. Since we can see everything fulfilled in the new covenant system, I was wondering if it might be interesting to take a look at all the sins that cut you off from humanity in the OT and see that these are the mortal sins that cut you off from God in the NT. What do you think?

I can think of one right now that was considered bad in the Old Testament, and we see in the Gospels. This is adultery. In the OT, women would be stoned to death for adultery. In the NT, it is considered a mortal sin if the conditions for a mortal sin are met. The example I am thinking in the NT is when the people of Jerusalem almost stone a woman to death for adultery, but Jesus stops them and says that whoever is free of sin, to cast the first stone. Jesus forgives her, and tells her to sin no more (a reference to modern-day Sacrament of Reconciliation, in that we come to Jesus with sorrow for our sins, and we are forgiven, and are told to try not to commit that sin again.)
