i know that as Christians we have moved the sabbath to Sunday b/c of the resurrection. but why was that still done? if God made the sabbath on Saturday, or atleast if that is the day it was interpreted to be on, why was it moved? the only reason this has come up is that one of my profs. , a priest who teaches Christian history, has been making comments on how the Church moved it. they have made me wonder if this was "ok". i will be asking him about this, but i woudl still liek to hear what you guys have to say. thanks!

Umm, I'm not sure where you heard that we "moved the sabbath"? Techinically the Sabbath is always Saturday. The fact that we moved our worship to Sunday has to do with the Resurrection. Sunday the Church celebrates the Feast of the Resurrection. It is a feast day, a holy day of obligation, and it is celebrated every Sunday. In a sense it is a "new sabbath" but it does not change the fact that Saturday is the Sabbath, the day God rested.

However, since the Old Law was fulfilled in Christ, the obligation to keep the Day of the Lord Holy is placed on us for Sunday.
