StColette
I'm about to drop my Calculus class, but then I'm not sure if I should. I can't learn from this Professor and I've tried teaching this mess to myself and it's just not working. And I have an exam in about 2 hours and I'm in no way ready for it, and I've been studying for the past 5 days. I just don't know what to do Any advice would be great !!! God Bless, Jennie
Noel's angel
Sounds like my Physics predicament. ia sked my priest about this, he told me that if i wasnt happy doing the subject and i wasnt going to benefit from it, to drop it. education is about developing urself as a person, not finding out how much worthless info u can learn. if u are not happy about this subject and it doesnt affect future career plans, drop it. happiness comes first. hope ive helped, droppping physics helped me. shelly_freak
I know it's probably too late but checking out tutoring is a good way to get help. My school has free tutoring that you just sign up for. I'd have to say that if I was in your position then I'd probably go and talk to the teacher beforehand and tell him what's going on. Hopefully he's a nice professor
StColette
well, seeing as Calculus is part of my degree program at the moment I have to take it sooner or later if I actually stick with this degree I'm thinking of changing my major. I'm just completely upset and disappointed in myself but if I stick it out I run the major and most definite risk of failing the class which will make me lose my scholarships. rachael
maybe you should just take it at a later time

StColette
I've talked to the Professor I've asked questions and I've tried learning from him, and it's not just me the entire class can't learn from him I'm going to have to make the decision today because this is about the last day to drop a course. I know I'm not ready for the exam today and I know for certain I'm going to bomb it majorly.

shelly_freak
Well it sounds like your best option may be to drop it and take it at a later time and make sure you don't get the same teacher. You really don't wanna loose your scholarship
StColette
I know I have to keep a certain GPA to keep my scholarships and I know failing a class will make me lose them, I know the Professor who is teaching it next semester, I had him my first semester of college and he's a really awesome Professor. So I guess I'm going to drop and take it in the Spring, I'm just disappointed in myself though.
shelly_freak
Sometimes a certain teacher just doesnt work with your learning style. Think of it this way, at least you know next semester you can do better with this other teacher.
StColette
My dad just kinda had a little talk with me. He knows this class has been bothering me for a while and he has never really encouraged me becoming a Vet. He says he's been listening to me speak about my English class and how much I enjoy it when it brings up Religious topics. And I've always been a big reader and he knows I love learning and talking about the Church, and I mentioned to him about me changing to a Theology major and he just smiled, like he knew all along that that is what I'm supposed to be doing. That he knows that I should be doing something for the Church but I've just been ignoring it. He also pointed something else out to me. I've never failed anything in my life concerning school or anything else. He said sometimes God has us fail at something to make us see that we may not be going down the path which He wants us to follow or the path in which we are intended for. My dad says he sees where I'm supposed to be but he won't come right out and tell me because it's my job to listen and find out for myself. But I have a feeling I know what it is, especially after last night. Anyway I've dropped the class. Thanks for your help guys.
