StColette
I come from a very hugging family lol So generally I'm a huggy person but I usually can tell if the person I'm near doesn't like being hugged etc. and I'm not one to run up behind people and hug them lol Though I do have friends who do that to me lol We've actually fallen down a few times lol anyway lol I'm open to hugs. When my dad owned a video store there was this family who had this little boy who was mentally disabled and he would going aroud hugging everyone in the store. Something about a hug from that child would just light up anyone's day.
IcePrincessKRS
I hug close friends and family when greeting them or saying goodbye... and with family I'll hug on other occasions, too... but other than that HANDS OFF! I hate when people I don't know try to touch me alot. And its especially annoying being pregnant because people think that they have the right to start touching you whenever they want just because you're fat and round. I had to tell a girl up at the FUS campus not to touch me a couple days ago. I'm standing there thinking "HELLO! I just learned your name, I don't know you, you're not my friend, what makes you think you can start touching me?" I've had to restrain myself to keep from slapping people's hands away when they do that.
DancesforLove
I'm a very huggy/affectionate person but I don't like people up in my face when they are talking to me, thats different.
track2004
Hugs are ok(ish), but only from people I really like, and being held by the boy a'int too bad, but I besides that, I really don't like to be touched. I get the "why-are-you-touching-me" face and shrink away. I'm cool with hand shakes, but don't touch my shoulder or use me as an arm rest (I'm the right height). Ya personal space is a really good thing, really good thing.
Ash Wednesday
I know where you're coming from, Lil Red. I love to give and take hugs, but only at the right time and with the right person. I've never been big on a lot of touchy-feeliness.
Andrea348
I come from a VERY unaffectionate family. We never hug each other, never say I love you. Personal space used to be a huge issue for me. I used to HATE people getting too close or hugging me. I would feel very uncomfortable. I got over that within the past few years. It depends on the situation now whether I like being close to people. If I have a family someday, I will definately raise an affectionate family.
