Adopt an embryo - save a baby

Well, i'd reckon the Church would have nothing against it. You're just giving the egg a womb in which it can grow. There is no artificial fertilisation involved (unless the egg was fertilised by IVF but I'm guessing this would be pretty rare - like first you really want a baby and then a few weeks later you don't???), and every precaution would have been taken to keep the baby alive. The real parents obviously didn't want to kill the poor thing...
As far as I know, the only method of "implantation" is In-vitro, which is clearly condemned by the Chruch. Correct me if I'm wrong, but any method that separates fertilization from the marital act is condemned.
In-vitro fertilization, also known as IVF, is only a method of fertilization. It refers to the fertilization taking place outside of the womb. The Church condemns methods of fertilization that separate conception and sex. Fertilization has already taken place. Even though this child was conceived through a sinful procedure, it is still a child and should be treated as such.

I honestly don't think there's going to be a clear answer given by the magisterium on this subject. This actually is a good case where your conscience can guide you into making a decision you think is right.

I would say the Church has never said anything against this and based upon her position on say.. illegitimate children and such.. the Church would be 100% alright with this idea. So long as you don't go to the doctor and say: do this in vitro fertilization and implant it in me! if you say, hey there's an embryo already frozen, can you implant it in me so i can try to save its life? yeah, it's definitely alright in my book, and I would say in the Church's book as well.

One cannot separate conception from the marital act (as a priest summed up for me: "no sex without babies, and no babies without sex"), if you attempt to separate the two, it is not truly procreation, but merely the transmission of life. The thing is, the child has already been conceived and created. Very interesting issue.
