immaculata Posted October 16, 2004 Share Posted October 16, 2004 Dear family and friends, Please pray for our friend Seth Fieldhouse. He sustained some very serious injuries in a rock climbing accident last Friday night, Oct.8. Seth fell roughly 60 feet, and the doctors said he should not have survived. Period. We know that it is truly miraculous that he did survive, and survive without head or spinal injuries. You might also be interested to know that initial reported injuries of collapsed left lung, internal bleeding/blood loss from damaged spleen, and left foot fracture were either completely reversed or non existent by the following day. Talk about miraculous!!! Seth has been in ICU at OSF St.Francis in Peoria until yesterday when he was transferred to a regular hospital room. The injuries which required surgery were fractures of left arm and pelvis, and they both required plates and screws to stabilize the bone fragments. He seems to be doing well after both surgeries and we are all anticipating that he can start on the road to recovery now. This is where you come in. As you can well imagine, he and his family have been literally saturated with prayer to this point, but we need as many people as possible to join in these prayers. Please invoke the special intercession of Blessed Mother Teresa. Please ask for Seth's complete recovery from his injuries without any residual nerve damage or chronic pain difficulties. And also that he could either be transferred to a hospital closer to his home or be able to go home soon. His parents have both stayed down there 24/7 since the accident, and Seth is the oldest of 6 children. Another special request of those of you who live within driving distance of North Central Illinois. We would like to invite everyone who can possibly come to attend a Holy Hour with Jesus for the purpose of praying for Seth's speedy and complete recovery. At this start of the Year of the Eucharist, we want to pray for continued growth of Eucharistic and Perpetual Adoration thru our country and the world, and especially for our children to learn to love our Lord truly present with all of their hearts. The Holy Hour will be led by the Brothers of St.John at St.Mary's Church in Utica on Friday, October 22 at 5:30 P.M., and will be preceeded by recitation of Evening Prayer with the brothers. Father Antoine has asked us to fill the church if at all possible, and so we are asking for your help to do this. Please pass the word on to anyone you know who might be willing to come. We are hoping that this time will accomodate the maximal number of persons, ie after school and work but before any Friday evening plans. And finally, please don't hesitate to bring all children in your families who can come. It will be a wonderful opportunity for our children to both see us turning to our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament and for them to learn to do the same, to approach the source of all grace, mercy, and love, in our time of need. We know that our Lord will not only hear our prayers for Seth, but will shower all of us with His blessings as well. PLEASE JOIN US !!!! Thank you, and God Bless You All.
