Ooh, that's so cool. I wish I could meet him... though I don't know how much he'd like me 'cause I don't think I'd be able to help myself from debating with him...

Actually, I don't think you can be a priest and hold public office, so this priest in Congress thing confuses me...

The only priest I know of who is in politics is only in politics because he's the Head of State of the Vatican City! :P
Question, can I be a priest and in politics at the same time. Our deacon said that there was a priest on congress once.
It think it is forbidden.

Thy Geekdom Come
by the Church or by the Gov't? just curious
Church

I don't have time to look it up in Canon Law, but I know that there is some stipulation on priests holding government positions of some type, although they may be able to hold some other types...

Can. 285 §3 Clerics are forbidden to assume public office whenever it means sharing in the exercise of civil power.

Can. 288 Permanent deacons are not bound by the provisions of canon...285 §3...unless particular law states otherwise.
I'd steer clear of that guy 100 percent. He's no friend of the planet or the people who live here.
Cool Rev! That is neat! :D

Crusader1234, if you are referring to Bush, then I thank God you are Canadian (or at least that is what your profile says), and can't vote! Media screws up so much, its not even funny. Do your research, you will see that Bush is better. Also, read this. It is the Catholic's Voters Guide, which tells how you should vote (if you could vote). God bless!
