FutureSoror
I really wanted to pray the 15 decade Rosary every day after reading that book but now, it's wearing off a little. Maybe the evil one is not happy about how good it was for me to be praying the Rosary so much for that time. I guess I really should make even more of an effort to be doing it now that it is a little harder.
Piccoli Fiori JMJ
Yes! I know how you feel! After reading the book I wanted to go out on a Rosary Party and pray all night! But because I didn't take that enthusiasm and actually pray, it left and I felt the urge to do it no longer. One of the long term effects has been my great love for the Rosary and the prayers within it. I always say the Hail Mary or the Our Father much slower than others when praying in a group. Sometimes I end up a line behind the rest, and I get messed up... But to strive onward! My next thing I want to do is to learn how to pray the Rosary in Latin, or at least just the Hail Marys for now.
FutureSoror
Ahhh yes, I'm glad I picked that up in Latin class. I don't usually think of praying the Rosary in Latin, but I do a little bit of it that way sometimes. I should learn the Creed and Fatima prayer so I can do the whole thing in Latin. I mostly know the Nicene Creed in Latin from singing it in choir, so it shouldn't be too hard.
FutureSoror
I think that probably is the most valuable thing about the book, though. You gain a much greater respect for the individual prayers. It is easy to overlook these seemingly simple little prayers we say so often.
Piccoli Fiori JMJ
I wish I could take Latin, but my school doesn't offer it. I do know about half of the Hail Mary in my head from singing Ave Maria in choir... But, do you have any other sacramentals or ones you wish you had? This is interesting! Many people just rattle through those prayers and pray them half-heartedly...
FutureSoror
Hmmm what about the Philomena cord? I've never seen one, but I heard about it from people on Phatmass before.

Piccoli Fiori JMJ
I actually have one! A few sisters in Wisconsin made it for me! They are so wonderful! I seemed to have lost it from the last time I went home... But I would wear it all the time and it is very cool! After a while, I didn't have the daily prayer for me to pray and I felt out of "alignment" (I had just moved in at college) You know you can make your own St. Philomena Cord? Piccoli Fiori JMJ
FOr the life of me I cannot remember which order they are, I know they are in Janesville WI... But you can only make one out of 2 "threads" one white and one red... white for virginity and red for martyrdom... they can only be wool cotton, or linen. ANd they must be intertwined in a way so that they almost become "blended". And then you just tie 2 knots at each end.

FutureSoror
Hmmm I'll have to think about doing that. I don't think I have wool or linen 'threads', but we'll see.
