DancesforLove
Toledo, mine did that too the first day, I came back the next day and it showed up just fine. I'm wondering if it's the server or something

aragorn
In my opinion, it's a bit immodest to use a likeness of the Lord, alter it in Photoshop (or MS Paint, hehe), and then stamp a screenname on it like it's your own personal design. I have similar concerns about some screennames that use God's name in a light-hearted way. Toledo_Jesus? I would feel unworthy to choose that name, Jesus, for myself. If I chose a religious name it would be "cali_sinner." (I am currently in California.) I think we should be careful to show respect to religious names and images. In fact the whole idea of signatures and icons does not seem very humble to me. Seems like a source of self-righteousness or pride, in my opinion. [/quote] First of all, how do you know that it's not "Toledo_Jesus" with "Jesus" as the Spanish pronunciation? Second, I made the image and there is no mistreatment of an image of God. There is an image of Christ on the cross, which means that the sig does exactly what icons are for, i.e. glorify God.
toledo_jesus
so do I have to defend my username as well as my belief that voting for Kerry is wrong? For the record, yes it is the name of our Lord. when I made the name I was fifteen and stupid, and when I joined phatmass I didn't really think about it. I don't think it's wrong to include His name in mine, because the name signifies what I'm concerned with: swords (hence Toledo, Spain) and God. aragorn
You don't need to be angry. You don't have to defend anything. If my post was angry in tone, then I apologize. That was not my intention. One who disagrees or raises a question is not necessarily seeking a fight or argument. That being said, I still hold to what I said originally. Peace. toledo_jesus
my default setting is angry...not really angry angry, just peevish. You have a good point, and I've wondered about it. Really, maybe I could change it. I know lankyswimmer changed his to something else.
