Paladin D
Both lied on many issues, no wonder people are discouraged to vote these days.
crusader1234
My thoughts on the debate: Cheney did well, but then again so did Edwards. Now as a debater, again, I think they came very very close - Cheney bringing up the intellectual average of the Bush/Cheney team which is very low as far as debating skills go. Now, this isn't to say I think Edwards got beat - I think he held his ground and came off as intelligent and a nice guy. Cheney was obviously the brains behind the Bush ticket, and as a result he spent a lot of the debate putting out fires Bush caused. In the end, I'd say they both did well from a debate standpoint. Now, who won from a statistics standpoint? I'd say Cheney didn't accomplish what he needed to - to represent a more personable and accessible VP. Edwards probably won overall. Shadow
Cheney rules that debate. it was awsome to watch him insult and blow away edwards (who is a complete arse portal) W 04!
crusader1234
Insulting in a debate makes you lose - and he did NOT blow away Edwards from a non-biased standpoint.
Iacobus
Cheney rules that debate. it was awsome to watch him insult and blow away edwards (who is a complete arse portal) W 04!
I resent that. I do, as most of you know, really dislike Bush but I have, TBMK, not called them names, esp replacement for swearwords. Please be a bit more thoughtful, not to mention, articulate in your choice of words. Though I do not know your age, I don't think that is acceptable or expected from any age group (you comment). Be decent and civil. I implore you to try that.

Guest Aluigi
actually, Iacobus, he typed the real swearwords i'm pretty sure. i just tested it to refresh my memory by previewing the post first, and that's how it came up. that's not cool. I really see Cheney as winning the debate from an unbiased view. he didn't insult edwards, just edward's RECORD. well, at least as i recall he didn't insult him personally. even my argumentation teacher, who is liberal, agreed that Cheney won. EcceNovaFacioOmni
Cheney won this one. Edwards basically reponsed to all Cheney's comments by saying that Bush and Cheney are wrong and that John Kerry will not do what they did. He never presented an alternative plan and merely spewed out campaign slogans. If you noticed, many of his answers were paraphrases of Kerry's answers during the presidential debate. Iacobus
I didn't watch the debate much but there was little about him on FactCheck.org which leads me to belive he didn't say much at all of substance. (Him being Edwards)
musturde
cnn.com had a recent survey. Most people claimed that Edwards won the debate.

(Him being Edwards)
To be honest here, Edwards just seemed more emotional and Cheney seemed to be more statistical and experienced. That was the image of the two. Not saying that means Cheney was speaking all truth, just the appearance of both canidates.
