Sojourner
Omaha is a city (Raph can tell you what size) but Nebraska has a lot of farming. Much like Indiana, where I'm from.

Sojourner
Nebraska is pretty close to being smack dab in the middle of the U.S., and it's mainly flat.

Thy Geekdom Come
US Political Map: Nebraska is the yellow state in the center. Nebraska Political Map: Omaha is the red dot marked "Omaha" on the Eastern edge. Omaha proper is not rural. In fact, it's a very wide city with several skyscrapers. Omaha proper has about 450,000 residents and the metropolitan area has 800,000. There are some nice attractions, including the original Boys Town (which is its own separate city, with one of the students as mayor, entirely within the city of Omaha), the Henry Doorly Zoo (third largest zoo in the world), Rosenblatt Stadium (site of the College World Series of Baseball), the First National Tower (headquarters of one of the United States' largest bank systems), headquarters of the Union Pacific Railroad, and the famous Old Market, seen below: The city of Omaha is a Republican stronghold, as is the entire state of Nebraska. We have 6 billionaires and 15,000 millionaires. We are about 70% Catholic. We have a very large Irish presence, followed by German, Hispanic, and African-American. We were built up by immigrants working on railroads and in the stockyards (we used to have the world's largest). Our city is home of the Star Wars defense system, or will be, once it's finished, as well as the strategic air command and it is the "safe place" where President Bush came for his own safety on 9/11. Many theorists think the "shadow government" will be in Omaha. I live in the suburbs in West Omaha, and behind my house is a large rural area which is being developed rapidly as the city is growing very quickly. That's about all I can think of...
