Thy Geekdom Come
Disclaimer: Theologians, correct me if I'm wrong...this is my reply to Shelly, but I defer to the Church where I am in error. The Catholic Church is a communion. It is the Communion of Saints. And that implies unity of belief. If you culpably doubt a Church teaching, you have broken that communion. We are one, heart, mind, body and soul, in communion with the Church.
You are correct, TCW. That is why disagreement with doctrines, infallible or not, cannot be taken lightly. We cannot split the Body of Christ. We must be one.

DancesforLove
I hate abortion too!! I saw this thing on tv earlier about a lady who was single but wanted a baby so she did invetro fertilization. She ended up with 4 babies (Two identical twins, two fraternal) when she found out about the 4 children she started considering selected reduction. I was so discusted I couldn't even watch it anymore! UGH even though she kept all 4 children it just bothered me that selected reduction is a posibility in anyones mind. But I do give her thanks and respect for not doing it.
azaelia
I hope you all will pardon me if I just blink with rainbow colored hearts popping around my head. :hearts: Catholic women (and girls) give me hope here on Phatmass...don't go extinct, you dying breed! Never give up your faith! Otherwise the hearts will all go pop and I'll just look like this...
You're hysterical, you know that right? Sojourner
I had a big discussion about this last week with a group of my Protestant friends. I crashed a Bible study and got in on a political discussion with a very conservative pro-life Republican and a very liberal pro-choice Democrat. It was interesting ... but I don't think anybody's minds were changed.

She was pretty militantly pro-abort, but now she's a leader in a Scottish Pro-life student organization. I don't think it was I who changed her mind, but bringing it up doesn't hurt, as long as people might start to think critically about it.
Noel's angel
I think sometimes, u give someone something to think about, and though you may not completely change their mind, it may make them think about what they believe and possibly, in the future change
