toledo_jesus
It is a bulletproof car they started using after John Paul was shot by a Muslim crazy man. Interestingly, this experience is something John Paul credits for his deep devotion to Mary.
Theoketos
No Head of State is ever allowed to ride with the Pope in the Popemoble, typically the local prelate sits with him. From my understanding there are many Pope Mobles.

Iacobus
The Popemobile has been around in some form for a while. The current jeep like thing has been recent but their has been a "parade" car for the Pope for the last 100 years if I am not mistaken.
Duc_In_Altum
Fiat is the manufacturer of the current popemobile. It is also the brand that acquired Ferrari in the 1950's. Perhaps you could incorporate some elements of the 550 Berlinetta TB Spider into your design. Maybe that would bring those fenceline Catholics back into the main stream...hehe. Just something to chew on...mentally and creatively of course. In faith, hope, and Christ, -Joe
Guest T-Bone
Fiat- Just because we call it a car, doesn't make it one.

BLAZEr
First of all, there are like 5 Popemobiles. Last I checked, unless Fiat recently acquired Mercedes and BMW, none of the Popemobiles are made by Fiat. Only one was made by GM, and that was in his visit to Boston, and it didn't have the little glass top.
cathoholic
Put a sound system on that smell of elderberries'a, the pope needs to listen to some of that funky Catholic hip-hop PM is making :dj:
