Priest Question

i have a question about the priesthood

in timothy chapter four verse one it says :
"Now the Spirit explicitly says that in the last times some will turn away from the faith by paying attention to deceitful spirits and demonic instructions through the hypocrisy of liars with branded consciences. They forbid marriage and require absitnence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know truth"

ok im not attacking the church here...i am just really curioius. ive considered entering the priesthood but this verse always troubles me alot...Mainly how it says in the last times some will turn away from the faith...so i would take this as saying that the people who turn away already have faith but they are turning away somehow.... What else could this be talking about right here ?? thank you for your help and comments
