[/color] I have been warned on this site for saying what I believe with every fibre of my being about the "Church" of Rome - that it is apostate and not even a church of Christ. This conclusion I came to after much heartache and tears. I did not want to leave the Church of Rome, but she forced me to do so by her heresy. As a Roman Catholic I never knew the grace of God, but only His Wrath constantly pressing on me, threatening me with eternal damnation if I should screw up by even something so slight as forgetting that it was Friday and having a big mac, unless I did specific works like go to confession. This is in direct opposition to the wonderful consolation of the Scriptures, which declare that the impious man is justified by faith, not works, and freely - without cost or necessity of works. I was warned for my 'lack of respect for religious' - for simply calling all of you on the dreadful worship of a mere man. I used strong words 'dreadful apostasy' because [b]that is what it is[/b]. Anyway, I should have expected this from you. But search yourselves and see that you do not suppress the Truth about the Roman "Church" in your unregenerate wickedness. That is all I ask. I have yet to ever see you, in your arrogance, ever respond to any of my posts I have ever directed towards you. I don't think you will respond to this one, either. All this smacks of, to me, is a bitter brother with some serious issues, maybe he has frustrations about his own faith, coupled with misperceptions that Catholicism is a fear and works based religion, and wants to take that out on everyone else. Who are you to dole out who is saved and who isnt? You're just as bad as Catholics saying anyone who isnt Catholic is going to Hell. [/quote] I refuse to believe that you actually thought you'd go to hell just for forgetting it was Friday and eating a Big Mac! As for confession, that's how Jesus wanted us to repent. So is repentance unnecessary for salvation? You're basically saying it is. We've told you that we don't believe we earn our salvation via works but that we believe they ARE necessary nevertheless in that we must do good and avoid evil. We do NOT worship the pope! You knew that when you were Catholic! We don't suppress the truth. Rather, we suppress lies like the ones you're promoting. And who are you to judge us and tell us how wicked we are? Can you see inside our souls? The Truth is from God. Lies, which you're trying to spread, are from Satan. You sorely need to find out what truth really is. If you want to spread your great revelation about the 'truth' don't make people feel like idiots or insult what they are doing. Don't try to come to the Catholic Church and say, "my man-made doctrine and dogma far surpass what Christ himself handed to you people. I know cause I was Catholic once." The fact that you were Catholic once only speaks to your poor catechesis. Spare us the disrespect and we'll spare you the warnings. I think that's simple to understand. On the other hand, I think the problem today is probably not an over-abundance of people who worry about the "wrath of God constantly pressing on them (the Holy Bible even advises us to work out our salvation "with fear and trembling..."). [/quote] Here's a tip, EACH PERSON'S salvation is insecure until they have died, been judged, and not found wanting and are inside heaven. No guarantees for anybody. No easy path. We are judged by how well we have LOVED. How loving are you being? Your feelings about being unworthy do not invalidate the Church. None of us are worthy, and all of us feel the fear of the Lord.
