Thy Geekdom Come
I know what abortion is. Don't try to tell me what I don't know and that I'm commiting a mortal sin, that's not your place to say that. ok im done, im not gonna start some big debate here, this is the lame board and debating is not lame
Also, we couldn't possibly have said that you don't know what an abortion is and that you are committing mortal sin. Part of committing a mortal sin is knowing what you're doing. You can't commit a mortal sin without that.

StColette
you know abortion will not be illegalized with bush (he hasn't done it so far) so how can you decide your gonna vote for him because of this sole topic when he doesn't seem to really care about it much? conservatives confuse me.
It may not ever be illegalized but you have to admit he is trying to make it illegal and stands against it by trying to make it illegal. Kerry has said that personally he's against it but he won't do anything to stop it, that is hypocritical to the extreme. And if your decision on who you're voting for comes down to the Iraqi War then maybe we should have a PM talk about it. I watched my brother leave and go to Iraq for a year to fight in the war and worried day upon day for his safety and he had many close calls. The choice was his to serve his country from the very beginning, and he knows what goes along with that. I don't agree with Bush on starting the war because those who know me know I'm an anti-war person. Even after all this I'm still voting for Bush because you have to realize something the soldiers in this war decided they would join the armed forces and they knew everything that went along with it and they are willing to pay that big price in serving and protecting their country. The babies who are killed by abortion don't have any choice in the matter. You can see the big difference here. Fighting and dying for their country is the soldiers choice but being killed before even living outside their mother's womb is not the choice of the baby. Anyway that's just my take on things. toledo_jesus
shelly you're 18, or will be soon. Round about now is when we need to start looking at the world in shades of grey, at least in cases where and when black and white don't suffice. In the case of these two people, one clearly is pro-abortion (black), and one is for limiting abortion (grey). Our Catholic Church tells us that we MUST bring our faith into all aspects of our lives. The Church teaches us beyond all doubt that Abortion is a grave, grave evil. Therefore, by voting for a man who supports abortion, you are yourself giving taciturn approval to the extreme sin of homicide directed against the most helpless of us. This puts you in an unenviable position. When there is not a perfect 'white' answer, we look for the least grey. A man who wants to limit abortion is the least grey answer. The lesser of two evils, if you will. You still have until November to talk this over with Jesus, and perhaps Mary.
