rachael
Ever feel like you stink at life? That's how I am feeling right now. My grades aren't too hot right now. I don't know why either. It's not like I don't try, because I do try really hard. My teachers seem to all be yelling at me in unison. My mom is breathing down my neck to go to this certain college that I don't wanna go to because it simply isn't for me. I keep on getting in fights with my mom about this issue. I'm getting yelled at by my Girl Scout leader for not getting started on my Gold Award (basically an Eagel Scout award). Some of my friends are being total jerks. I am having problems with overeating because of stress. Speaking of stress, I have alot of it. Also, the fact that I am an epileptic doesn't help. My medicine makes me tired, dizzy, and unable to concentrate. I get treated differently because of this. It irritates me. I just wanna stay at home and sleep. My only real escape from the crazy world I live in is church. My mom wants to "take" church away from me, though. In esscence, she wants to punish my "behavior" by limiting my activities at church, that means less mass. I really think I am getting severly depressed. I just wanna burst into tears. And there is more to the story. I just don't wanna share it all.

StColette
Awwwwwwww Rachael hun  You really have to try not to become over stressed. I know I become really stressed during the semesters and I have to constantly remind myself to not worry so much. As for your grades not being so hot, you said that you're trying very hard and giving it your best, that is what really matters, if you know that you're giving it your all and you still are struggling it may just be one of those subjects that you just don't understand, believe me I'm struggling in a course like that right now. If you know that you're not giving it everything you have then you should probably try to kick yourself into gear, I'm doing this right now as well. On to the next stress creator, parents can be a real big pain when it comes time for their kids to start applying for colleges. You really need to sit down with your mom and calmly explain why the college she feels is best for you really isn't the one that you feel is best for you. Remember your mom doesn't know what you're feeling so it would be impossible for her to make this decision based fully on what is good for you. Show her the colleges that you're interested in and explain to her why you're interested in them. Parents want their children to be happy which often leads them to try to make these types of decisions for them. She needs to remember that you're an adult or almost one, and that you have a sound enough mind to make this type of decision for yourself. As for your Girl Scout leader, you should try to explain to her what all is going on and that you're concentrating more on school at the moment because that comes before the Gold Award on your priorities list. And for the friends who are acting like jerks, they would not be acting like this if they understood the things that you're dealing with and they would be more sympathetic towards you. If they do know what all you're trying to handle then these aren't the best type of friends you can have. Friends are there as someone to help comfort you and give you advice and generally encourage you. Friends aren't there to make you feel bad or bring you down. After reading about the overeating thing do to stress it has me worried that you're at a point where you may have a completely breakdown. I know sometimes when I stress I'll end up undereating which is very unhealthy. My advice to you when you feel like you're stressing out and feel the urge to eat something, drink water or some type of juice instead of eating something that may be unhealthy for you. You really do need to have a talk with your mother if she is trying to limit your involvement at Church and especially concerning Mass. God comes first among everything. Everything good that we do in our lives is because of Him. He put us here for a reason and created each of us. Because of this He should come first in all things. More or less it seems you just need to sit down and have a talk with your mother about the college and Church topics, also speak with your troop leader, and also try not to over worry, I know its easier said than done, but through prayer you can ease your worries. Remember if things get to difficult God is always there to help carry you through this. Footprints in the Sand One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to him, and the other to the LORD. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it: "LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me." The LORD replied: "My son, my precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you." God Bless and Many prayers, Jennie Catherine Edited September 30, 2004 by StColette
