Theologian in Training Posted October 1, 2004 Share Posted October 1, 2004 Yeah, it sounds like you have a virus. Your best bet is to just backup those things you need, and do a complete reformat. Actually Dell gives you the restore disks so it is actually pretty easy. I usually reformat my comp at least every few months, keeps it clean and running smooth, and though I know how to reformat a computer, the restore disk is great, it does everything for me while I sleep. rachael Posted November 16, 2004 Author Share Posted November 16, 2004 so, i'm still having these problems once in a while....i can't get to certain folders without the computer telling me there is an error...it's driving me nuts i've checked dozens of times and i have no spyware, viruses....etc... help... crusader1234 Posted November 16, 2004 Share Posted November 16, 2004 Option 1: May sound stupid, and it probably wont help, but try right clicking the taskbar thing (that disappears) and make sure its set to always on top and maybe unlock it and see what happens. Option 2: Backup your files and re-install windows. HP has a feature that re-installs everything for you, which is easier than using the discs, so maybe Dell does too.
