theculturewarrior
I'm not sure if underwhelmed is in current English usage, but the root word "whelm" actually goes back to the Anglo Saxon period in which it would be, just "whelmed." I'll get more information for you, BRB.
BullnaChinaShop
hey...I'm underwhelmed by the lack of compliments you all have given my new siggie. I think Az did a magnificent job. Give it up for Azaelia! WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP!
I think you sig is very funny and appropriate. I may be being picky but refering to azaelia as Az can be confusing for some of us older members of the board as we have refered to Azriel as Az for a long time. theculturewarrior
first, my apologies to Azriel. From now on I will refer to Azaelia as Zael. Second, underwhelmed IS a word that has at least some history. I haven't looked in the OED yet, but an older dictionary here at the library listed the word. It said it was used informally, but I suspect it has more history than that. Thirdly, thanks for all the compliments for my new wonderful avatar...and thanks Zael!
