Welcome to Capitalism.

I like it here.

Capitalism doesn't have to be that way. There are lots of good people and good companies out there. But I've seen Microsoft from the other side, and know they are the antithesis to CCC 2424.

Yeah, well, I was mostly joking. I don't buy Microsoft products, actually, but that's because they support abortion.

Qwest Communications isn't a good company either. My dad works there...they're not nice to their employees, but things are getting better...

I used to work for Qwest Myself. That's funny that it came up here :)

I don't know if it still is this way, but when I worked there Microsoft owned a large chunk of Qwest stock. Not enough to be controlling, or anything, but It's funny how it all ties together.

My dad's stuck in middle management at what used to be the USWEST building in Omaha, where he worked for 25 years, lol...but then Qwest bought it out and Joe Nachio (or, as my father calls him, Osama bin Nachio) drove the benefits into the ground. I could go on complaining about that company for quite a while...

Ironmonk, I'm not a Microsoft hater (I know you didn't say it, though I just wanted to make sure). My views on Microsoft are a mix. On one hand Microsoft has done a lot of good, while on the other they can get annoying and seems as if they are trying to become a monopoly.

Microsoft has it's positives and it's negatives. I haven't really track, or read a reliable source of Microsoft's history to really make an accurate judgement anyway.

You'll still be able to access your hotmail account via the web at www.hotmail.com
I know I will still be able to access my hotmail accounts via the web, however it's much easier for me to check 3 hotmail accounts at one time (using Outlook Express). I can live with the change, but it'll make things a little harder on me.

OOo, good thing you said something, Al. I've been wanting to change mine and get rid of my hotmail address altogether, but I wouldn't want to not be re-validated.

No, I did not write that.

It boggles my mind how some people put words between the lines of my writing that don't belong to the writing. :getaclue:

What I'm saying IS THAT YOU DO NOT KNOW THEIR MOTIVATION OR WHAT REALLY HAPPENED. NONE OF US DO. YOU ARE JUDGING THEM. YOU ARE NOT GIVING THEM THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT.

Paladin,

You've have impressed me again. Your understanding and wisdom are developing very well and your maturity and objectivness in the matters of fact and truth are more mature and logical then many others that are twice your age.

Microsoft is so huge that people in the middle could get away with all kinds of immoral actions. But of course, none of that is the point... my whole point was that Microsoft doesn't smell of elderberries... to smell of elderberries would mean that their products smell of elderberries.

I'm sure you understand that the media and all who hate to see others do well, will of course attack MS with lies and distortions. It's possible that some of it is true, but without hearing the other side, basing a judgement on the entire company is simply foolish.

God Bless,
ironmonk

I think the Hotmail service as a whole, minus Passport, has been degraded ever since Microsoft took control. I liked the pre-Microsoft Hotmail much better. Anyone remember it? Now I have a non-Hotmail account.

"Mr. Gates, when did you realize you were running a monopoly?"

"Monopoly is just a game, Senator. I'm trying to control the world." :cyclops:

I hate WinXP. It's slow. It's inefficient. It's annoying.

I don't claim Microsoft is evil or immoral...just annoying.

I suppose we're just talking about different things then, and I'll admit some of their products are really quite good.

On the other hand I won't admit that Linux is bad, because I use it everyday and find it quite useable and stable. It sounds like you haven't tried Linux in a while (Fedora has been the Red Hat release for some years), I recommend trying a current one before you judge it.
