ere's a thought... what if your parents (who obviously have HIGHER authority over u than the civil authority) gave you drinks w/ dinner n stuff in a state where even that was illegal? i assume the higher parental authority supersedes the state & u can morally drink, right?
If it is illegal to drink underage with even with your parents there and your parents still give you alcohol even if it's used as a teaching method...for respect or whatever is being said then your parents are breakin gthe law and what is that teaching the kids..."it's ok to break the law" and i'm not sure that that classifies as somet hing that is morally wrong and therefore you can break that law....get me? basically i take issue with parents "teaching" their kids about alcohoil by letting them drink it. Drinking it when it is Jesus' blood is one thing but telling little Jimmy to have a beer with dinner so he learns to respect it is ridiculous in my opinion.

MORE RANTING :) my my i do like to rant today....sorry it's just that i know too many people whose parents use the whole "i'd rather they did it in front of me than behind my back" thing.

If I was in charge the age for buying alchohol would be 18 but there would be no restriction on drinking alchohol. Its a part of some people's culture and so they should be able to drink it even if they are 12 years old. I'm sure some people would disagree, but I don't mind because its not like what I think is going to change the laws anyway.

Wonderful.

"If I was in charge the age for buying alchohol would be 18 but there would be no restriction on drinking alchohol."

If it were my choice, that would be ideal, too, considering people are responsible enough for that, which I don't know if it is or not in the US, but certainly that would be the ideal. Moreover, I still follow the law, though, because even though it contradicts my judgment, it is a sin of disobedience to break the law.
